THE Voice star Leanne Jarvis has welcomed her baby boy three weeks early as she opens up about the “traumatic” birth and battling off a nasty infection.
The singer took to Instagram to share the news with her followers on Tuesday as well as sharing the first snaps of her new little bundle of joy.
In the snaps, the baby lay fast asleep while wearing an adorable knitted jumper with matching booties and a hat, with “Hello World” written on it.
She penned: “I knew he’d be early, but 3 weeks early was not expected! I’d like to introduce our little boy. Jesse Fernandez-Jarvis.
“Born 30th March at 8.56am via forceps weighing 5lb 12.”
Leanne went on to express: “I’ve had one hell of a ride again with this birth. Another traumatic one, which is unbelievably disappointing.
“It’s been such a tough recovery this last week and I’m still fighting an infection now, but slowly I will get better.
“No one talks about the recovery and it can be really, really hard. Can’t wait to fully enjoy my baby boy, he is such a little darling xxx.
“Seymour and my mum have been so incredible as birth partners and also as my carers, where I’ve been so poorly. My sister has been amazing too helping out so much. It really does take a village.”
The BBC One star concluded: “To see the care and love my family have shown me really makes me so grateful. I think I’m still in shock. It’s all been a lot, but he’s here! My family is now complete xxxx.”
Her followers flocked to the comments section to send their congratulatory messages as one gushed: “Oh Leanne, he’s perfect!
“Sending lots of love and healing so you can be 100% to enjoy your new addition xx.”
Another person wrote: “Congratulations Leanne – he’s so beautiful – welcome to the world Jesse.”
Somebody else penned: “Massive congrats and sending so much love on the recovery.”
Yet another enthused: “Ohh wow! Congratulations to the family and welcome that little man!!”
While a fifth added: “Gorgeous Leanne, congratulations to you all. Wishing you a speedy recovery xx.”
Leanne and her husband Sean are also parents to a daughter named Vivi.
She appeared on the second series of The Voice UK back in 2013 and was mentored by Will.I.Am on the show.
She reached the live quarter-final but was sadly eliminated from the BBC One series.
During her time on the singing competition, she belted out songs including Lorraine Ellison’s Stay With Me, Hero by Mariah Carey and i-Ten’s Alone.
The second series was eventually won by Andrea Begley, who was on The Script star Danny O’Donogue’s team.
Since the show ended, Leanne has worked for several years as guest entertainer for cruise lines and was the featured vocalist for the ‘Here Come the Girls’ tour for Strictly Come Dancing.
