HBO went from Game of Thrones‘ red wedding to Euphoria‘s red wedding for Cassie (Sydney Sweeney) and Nate (Jacob Elordi) in episode three of the third and final season of Sam Levinson’s drug-fueled drama, which aired Sunday.
The bride stressed about her vomiting groom never coming home the night before and her mother Suze (Alanna Ubach) walked her down the aisle while recalling her own ‘naive’ nuptials to a ‘brutal’ man, warning her ‘masterpiece’ daughter: ‘Not a mistake you can fix.’
Rings were exchanged – but no vows – as the couple said ‘I do’ and passionately kissed after he forced her to delete the raunchy OnlyFans account that allowed her to pay for their $50,000 floral arrangements.
Among the guests were Cassie’s scantily-clad high school friends – nemesis-turned-social media manager Maddy (Alexa Demie) and sober drug dealer Rue (Zendaya), who brought transgender painter-escort Jules (Hunter Schafer) as her plus one.
During the reception, Nate is surprised by loan shark Nassim, who told him it was ‘foolish to throw elaborate party when you owe so many people money’ and threatened he’d become his ‘worst f***ing nightmare’ if he didn’t pay back ‘every last dollar’ of the $550,000 owed.
When Cassie asked ‘What money?! Nate, who is this guy?!’ he replied: ‘It’s totally fine!’

By the end of the night Cassie and Nate were both left a bloody mess after getting brutally attacked by a loan shark over Nate’s secret debts
Another ‘cringe’ BDSM scene featured topless Jules (Hunter Schafer) working as an escort and getting wrapped in saran wrap
At this point, her suspicious younger sister Lexi (Maude Apatow) asked if everything was okay and, red eyed, Cassie chillingly replied: ‘Of course, it’s my wedding day. What a weird question to ask on the best day of my life.’
The couple’s first dance as man and wife didn’t go any smoother, with Cassie in tears, whispering ‘how much money do you owe’ and him quietly warning they’d just have to ‘downsize’ – a word that horrifies her to the core.
Even as crying Cassie gyrated her body, straddled his leg and bent down on her knees during the choreographed dirty dance – Nate continued to quietly reassure her: ‘Trust me, I love you.’
All the while, clueless Maddy watched the so-called perfect couple and ‘got a little more emotional than she anticipated’ having also previously dated Nate in high school.
Meanwhile, Nate’s mom Marsha (Paula Marshall) rapped the raunchy lyrics to Lil Jon & the East Side Boyz’s 2003 hit Get Low with a James Brown impersonator hired to perform at the wedding.
After her bridesmaid Heather (Jessica Blair Herman) revealed ‘broke’ Nate conned her into investing her children’s college funds into a construction project, Cassie drunkenly and angrily confronted him.
Cassie screamed Nate was ‘not a man’ and ‘a liar’ in front of his buddies before accidentally hitting him in the right eye with the popped cork from a champagne bottle.
In the white Hummer limousine, Nate apologized for not telling Cassie about his financial failings and vowed to clean up the mess he made.
‘I’m so grateful to call you my wife. You make me want to be a better man, husband and someday a father,’ Nate said.

‘I love you Cassie Jacobs, even though I can’t see out of this f***ing eye right now.’
Cassie agreed to ‘make love’ to Nate, but their honeymoon at home was crashed by Nassim and his henchman, who immediately pounced on him.
While trying to help Nate, Cassie was thrown to the ground and her nose was broken.
‘I’m bleeding! This is my wedding night!’ Cassie sobbed, in full crash-out mode.
When Nassim reminded her Nate didn’t listen to reason, she cried: ‘He doesn’t ever want to listen!’
‘This is so unfair! It was supposed to be the best day of my life!’ Cassie wailed.
‘What is happening right now?!’
Nate did nothing to defend himself as he was fully beaten in the background, pleading with the men he’ll pay them back until they severed his right pinky toe with a pair of clippers.

Meanwhile, Jules had a brief reunion at the wedding bar with Nate’s disgraced father Cal (Eric Dane), who whined to her about having trouble renting an apartment as a registered sex offender after their tryst when she was a teenager.
When Cal – who delivered a drunken father-of-the-groom speech – called high school the ‘best years of our lives’ Jules scoffed: ‘I couldn’t disagree more.’
Episode three opened with Jules’ experiences escorting including a businessman who would lick her stockings while pleasuring himself and a plastic surgeon who engaged in more BDSM proclivities.
Jules stood naked aside from a black thong with her arms raised in the air as the married doctor wrapped her entire body and head with cellophane so she could not move.
The fully-clothed doctor left only her mouth uncovered so he could kiss her.
There was a lot of fan reaction to the cellophane scene, with X user @cry1ngmuse tweeting: ‘Bruh why is [creator] Sam Levinson showing us all his fetishes? Like what was the point of having Jules wrapped in plastic?’
X user @brettxboon agreed: ‘Jules sugar daddy storyline just existing for Sam Levinson to live out another fetish.’
‘Another episode more fetish content,’ X user @bitchinof echoed. ‘Why are we Saran Wrapping Jules?’

‘That old man wrapping Jules in plastic is the most protection I’ve seen anyone use on this show,’ X user @oblivionlys wrote
X user @Beba_421 tweeted: ‘#Euphoria is so cringe now. I just want to skip to [the] finale to see what happens’
Season three currently has a dismal 42 percent critic approval rating (out of 50 reviews) and a 46 percent audience ‘Popcornmeter’ score on Rotten Tomatoes
As for Rue, she’s now working for strip club owner Alamo (Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje), which gave Euphoria a chance to show an entire gratuitous pole dance from a neck brace-clad stripper played by pop star Rosalía (pictured)
The aimless character has transformed herself from a drug mule to an arms dealer, selling rifles and handguns on three percent commission like she’s doing a TikTok get-ready-with-me video
Alamo sent his ‘cowboy’ henchman to surreptitiously poison Rue’s old boss Laurie’s (Martha Kelly) beloved Cockatoo Paladin in revenge for bringing his prior revenge pig back to his strip club – prompting a full-blown war
Episode three – titled ‘The Ballad of Paladin’ – ended with Rue getting detained and possibly arrested by the Drug Enforcement Agency
