Kylie Minogue gave a first glimpse into her life as she dropped the Netflix trailer for her upcoming ‘intimate’ documentary KYLIE on Instagram on Tuesday.

The Australian singer, 57, passionately kissed late INXS frontman ex Michael Hutchence in a sweet archive video.

The couple, who previously dated between 1989 to 1991, looked happy as they cosied up in a series of clips. Michael passed away aged 37 in November 1997.

Kylie also held back tears as she opened up about how scared she was during her cancer battle, ‘I felt removed from my body, I was so scared of what was ahead of me.’

In the three-part series, Kylie’s sister Dannii added: ‘We didn’t know if she’s ever gonna be well again. I just wanted to be with my sister. Music kept us going.’

The Loco-Motion hitmaker was diagnosed with early-stage breast cancer in May 2005 at the age of 36.

She underwent a lumpectomy and chemotherapy in Paris, and was given the all-clear in 2006.

The series, created by the team behind the Beckham documentary, is set to explore the singer’s journey to becoming one of pop’s biggest stars.

Glimpses of Kylie’s decade-spanning career were also shared in the trailer, from her role as Charlene in Neighbours to behind-the-scenes footage of her music videos, photoshoots and her performance at Glastonbury in 2019.

The star said she ‘hated being boxed in’ and loved pushing herself to trying new things in the music and acting world.

She said: ‘Life makes sense to me on stage and there is certainly no end’.

The documentary trailer also features her collaborator and friend Nick Cave, who said: ‘Kylie is this force. It’s all outward, giving.’

As her hit All The Lovers played over the top of the trailer, Kylie was seen having the time of her life performing a series of fun archive clips.

The series is set to drop on Netflix on May 20 and will also feature insights from Australian actor and singer Jason Donovan and English record producer Pete Waterman.

Emmy and Bafta award-winning director Michael Harte is at the helm, with production by John Battsek’s Ventureland.

It was first reported that the Australian singer had signed a seven-figure deal with the streaming service for a fly-on-the-wall documentary back in June 2024.

Kylie will discuss public scrutiny, personal loss and illness in the three-parter and how she has earned respect beyond her own fandom.

‘KYLIE’ explores one of music’s most enduring icons who has consistently reshaped pop and sold over 80 million records along the way,’ the documentary’s press release states.

Earlier this year, The Mail on Sunday exclusively revealed that the singer is set to open up about her relationship with late INXS frontman Michael Hutchence on her Netflix show.

Back in June 2024 it was reported that Kylie was locked in a bidding war with streaming giants for months.

However, Netflix bosses managed to beat rivals Apple+ and Disney to the punch, and filming was expected to start later that year.

A source told The Mirror at the time: ‘There was a serious bidding war over this. Kylie’s had an incredible life, from starring in Neighbours to becoming a pop icon and still dominating the charts decades later.’

‘She has a massive fan-base so there’s no question it will attract a huge audience.

‘That’s why the offers went so high – everyone’s very excited.’

Kylie first found fame in 1986 when she joined the cast of Neighbours as Charlene Mitchell.

After her stint in Neighbours, she went on to become the Princess of Pop and had record sales of more than 80 million.

She has also released 16 albums and seven of those have been No.1’s including last year’s Tension, with racy hit single Padam Padam.

Following the success of her album Tension, Kylie then started up her first concert residency at The Venetian Hotel’s Voltaire in Las Vegas.

The series is set to drop on Netflix on May 20
