Cole Tomas Allen was charged with attempting to assassinate President Donald Trump and two other crimes after he opened fire at the White House Correspondents’ Dinner with the President, Melania, and Cabinet officials in attendance.

The Justice Department accused Allen, 31, of attempting to attack the dinner – and target Trump and administration officials – by running through a Secret Service checkpoint with a shotgun, handgun, and knives.

A very quiet and emotionless Allen had his first appearance in court on Monday afternoon and was charged with three federal crimes.

Those include attempted assassination of the President and two gun charges.

The alleged gunman is facing up to life in prison if he’s convicted. He has not yet entered a plea.

The complaint also included Allen’s entire chilling manifesto, saying he was targeting ‘administration officials’ from the ‘highest-ranking to lowest.’

‘I would still go through most everyone here to get to the targets if it were absolutely necessary (on the basis that most people *chose* to attend a speech by a pedophile, rapist, and traitor, and are thus complicit) but I really hope it doesn’t come to that,’ he wrote.

The Justice Department filed a criminal complaint on Monday detailing the allegations against Allen.
