Inside The Saturdays troubled reunion plans as ‘toxic rift’ resurfaces

ALTHOUGH fans might be raving over the possibility of The Saturdays’ reunion plans, a ‘toxic rift’ could derail the whole thing.

The Saturdays are approaching their 20th anniversary, with a reunion tour now on the cards for the girls after Una Healy hinted at the possibility.

The hit girlband, who had hits with What About Us and Ego, was made up of Mollie King, Frankie Bridge, Rochelle Humes, Vanessa White and Una.

The band initially rose to fame in 2007 before disbanding in 2014.

Then, last summer, we reported the mysterious ‘feud’ between two of the bandmates as the stars ‘snubbed’ each other at Wimbledon after a 24-year friendship.

And this feud is seemingly still rumbling on, with things still said to be frosty between to the two former bandmates, which could in turn derail any plans of a reunion.

Huge girlband member teases reunion as chart-toppers approach 20th anniversary

An insider has told The Sun: “It’s the tension that’s really stalling things.

“There’s still a big frostiness between Rochelle and Frankie.

“They can’t really be in the same room, it’s not how it used to be. It’s just very awkward.”

ROCHELLE’S RECENT SNUB

This week, Rochelle appeared on Jamie Laing’s Great Company Podcast, where she seemingly snubbed Frankie and further fuelled rift speculation.

When Jamie quizzed her on a possible reunion, Rochelle mentioned all of the other girls but didn’t mention Frankie.

She said: “To be honest with you, we can barely get a dinner in.

“Like our group chat is like Una’s like, ‘I’m over from Ireland this week. Who’s free?’

“And it will be like one of us at each time.

“And Vanessa’s just had a baby. Mollie’s also got a young family.”

Although she didn’t mention Frankie when answering the reunion question, earlier on in the podcast she did namedrop her when talking about their early career in S Club Juniors.

BEHIND THE SCENES GOSSIP

Our insider also told us why each of the girls might or might not want the reunion to happen.

“Una’s public push for a reunion has only scratched the surface of what’s really going on behind the scenes,” our source explained.

“She genuinely wants it but she’s up against four very different women who don’t all share that vision anymore.

“Una is sort of stuck in that time whereas the others have all moved on. It’s quite sad!”

The source went on to say: “Rochelle’s built an empire. TV, big successful brands and a whole life that doesn’t rely on pop nostalgia
and being a popstar anymore.

“She’s not rushing back into a girl band unless it massively benefits her and even then, she’d absolutely want full control.

“Vanessa, meanwhile, is the biggest question mark. She didn’t love the music machine back then, and she definitely doesn’t need it now.

“Her life is worlds away from tour buses and rehearsals – why would she give it up to go back there?

“Mollie is the most enthusiastic and she’s been chatting to Una lots about it all.

“She’s really up for it and a reunion would tie in nicely with her radio career. She misses it – the music, the fans, all of it.”

‘LINGERING SCANDAL’

Our source then mentioned the drama involving Myleene Klass, which Frankie and Rochelle were caught up in last year.

“And then there’s the lingering scandal.

“That whole situation with Myleene and the mystery woman dragged people into drama they didn’t sign up for.

“It created even more cracks between the pair that never fully heal.”

The Saturdays’ Frankie and Rochelle maintained a friendship with Myleene’s ex-husband, Graham Quinn, whom she accused of cheating.

“A reunion sounds great on paper but behind closed doors, it’s a different story,” our source said.

“It’s never going to happen. If it does, it will have to be without Rochelle, and she’d never allow that to happen!”

The feud between Myleene, Rochelle and Frankie: Explained

LAST summer, Myleene Klass found herself embroiled in a bitter feud between Rochelle Humes and Frankie Bridge.

It all kicked off when she made shock claims about her ex-husband Graham Quinn.

The former Hear’say star claimed that she walked in on her ex and a famous woman in the industry “unzipping” each other’s clothes.

Myleene said the heartbreaking moment happened in her home at her own birthday party.

Speaking on We Need To Talk podcast, Myleene said: “It was in my house, it was my party.

“They weren’t having sex but they were unzipping each other. ‘It’s not what you think,’ but it is what I think. It’s the first thing they both said.

“I kicked everybody out of the party including his mum and dad.”

Graham is yet to respond publicly to the accusations.

However, it has ignited a feud with fellow noughties popstars, Rochelle Humes and Frankie Bridge.

The two Saturdays stars are both former clients of Graham, and have remained friends with him.

Friends told The Sun that Myleene’s claims about Graham have caused tension between her, Rochelle and Frankie.

Shortly after she dropped the cheating bombshell, Frankie then posted a cryptic video, which said that somebody was “dead to me”.

Rochelle then shared a cosy snap with Graham, along with husband Marvin Humes.

In a further twist, sources claim that Rochelle gave Myleene’s ex a place to stay when she dumped him.
