THE Masters gets underway TODAY as Rory McIlroy looks to retain the green jacket.

It is the only major tournament that stays at the same venue, Augusta National Golf Club in Georgia.

McIlroy became the first European to complete the career grand slam last year when he finally clinched the iconic green jacket.

Tommy Fleetwood will also be in action this week as the Englishman looks to win his first major championship after he won on the PGA Tour for the first time last August at the Tour Championship.

World No1 Scottie Scheffler is looking for his third win at Augusta this year, with previous wins in 2022 and 2024 – the American won two majors last year at the PGA Championship and The Open.

Tiger Woods was also expected to make a sensational return on Magnolia Lane, where he has won five times previously – however the golfing legend was involved in a car crash near his home recently that wrecked his chances of a return.
