AN ex-master of a top UK school has been arrested on suspicion of historic sex crimes.
A man in his 80s has been arrested on suspicion of rape and indecent assault at the prestigious Stowe School in Buckinghamshire in the 1980s.

The man was a former head of department and taught at the £53,000-a-year former boys’ institution for several decades, reports the Daily Mail.
Cops launched an investigation after a woman in her 50s came forward with claims he had sexually assaulted her.
The allegation refers to her time at the school after it started to admit girls into its sixth form in the 1980s.
A number of other former female students who were taught by the man in the late 1980s were also interviewed as part of the investigation.
The man from Bicester, Oxfordshire, was reportedly arrested last November.
Thames Valley Police said he has since been released on bail while the investigation continues.
Stowe School counts famous actors and sportsmen and business owners among its alumni.
Superman star Henry Cavill has walked the halls as has England cricketer Ben Duckett.
Sir Richard Branson, film director Matthew Vaughn and rugby star Henry Pollock also attended the school.
A spokesperson for Thames Valley Police said: “We have received a report of non-recent sex offences in the late 1980s at Stowe School.
“An investigation has been launched and a man in his 80s from Bicester has been arrested on suspicion of rape and indecent assault. He has been bailed while our inquiries continue.
“The investigation remains ongoing and is being progressed thoroughly, with extensive inquiries continuing, which has contributed to the length of the investigation.”
The Sun has contacted Stowe School for comment.
It’s not the only instance of private schools being hit by child abuse allegations recently either.
We reported on Saturday how a married teacher at a £46,000-a-year boarding school was banned after bombarding a pupil with “weird” late-night messages.
James Samson, 46, sent the creepy texts and emails to the girl for more than a year after asking for her personal phone number.
And in February, a teacher at one of Britain’s most exclusive pre-schools was arrested over claims he sexually assaulted a child.
The man, in his 30s, was interviewed, released on bail and barred from returning to the pre-prep in West London.
