A similar Moroccan light fixture from B&Q will set you back £24.95, over double the price.

The Marrakech Solar Powered Garden Lantern is slightly different from the Aldi version, as it has a built-in light sensor, meaning customers don’t need to switch the product on when it gets dark.

B&Q said: “Our Marrakech solar lantern is inspired by those found in Morocco‘s famous souk markets.

“The burnished metal lantern is decorative by day and wonderfully atmospheric at night.

“Simply place in direct sunlight by day and see it gently glow by night.”
