THIS is the moment right-wing pop star Holly Valance is cut-off on a live TV interview after using a derogatory slur.
Appearing on GB News on Monday night, the singer-turned-commentator shocked viewers when she used an offensive insult while discussing the Covid pandemic.
She said: “I never really guessed it, during Covid it was the big tester. It was the r****d meter. And Australia was quite high on that.”
The comment was immediately challenged, but 42-year-old Valance refused to back down or apologise.
Instead, she doubled down, gesturing to the show’s title and saying: “Hey, are we not Free Speech Nation over here?”
In the interview clip, which went viral, the host pushed back, responding: “We are free speech, except for that word.”
Viewers were quick to take to social media to express their outrage at Valance’s disrespectful slander.
One posted: “Maybe not a bad word but a disgusting one slandering intellectually disabled people. Do better.”
Another chimed in: “It’s pretty wild that Holly Valance said that on GB News. You gotta figure the folks there are scrambling a bit after that one.
“Still, it sure gave everyone something to talk about over breakfast, didn’t it?”
Valance made headlines after penning a track titled Kiss Kiss (XX) My Arse which was released last week to mark Australia Day.
The song, released in collaboration with Australia’s right-wing One Nation party leader Pauline Hanson, takes aim at trans people and “snowflakes.”
Opening with the lyrics “You will respect my pronouns,” the song goes on to slander so-called “woke” culture.
Despite the backlash, the novelty release shot to number one in the Australian charts within hours, overtaking Olivia Dean’s Man I Need.
However, the controversial song was quickly pulled from Apple Music and can no longer be streamed.
Valance criticised the decision to remove her new track from the streaming platform.
She said: “As long as you’re keeping people dumbed down and numb you’re fine.
“Do not under any circumstance give right wingers a chance to have an opinion.
“Theirs don’t count. Ya Fascists! -This is more than ‘a song with hurty words’ guys. Wake up.”
It comes a few months after Valance was pictured unwinding alongside Tommy Robinson on a train trip.
The pair were seen lying down on the train on separate sofas in images posted on social media.
Robinson, whose real name is Stephen Christopher Yaxley-Lennon, was seen smiling as he swigged a drink.
It is not the first time Holly has been pictured spending time with the former EDL leader.
Friends of the singer reportedly raised concerns about the prospect of her two daughters, aged 12 and 8, spending time around the 43-year-old co-founder of the English Defence League (EDL) and a former member of the British National Party (BNP).
