ZENDAYA has told how Tom Holland won her heart — but still refuses to confirm they have secretly married.
The 29-year-old actress said the British star, also 29, simply made her feel at ease.
She said: “I think sometimes people can get nervous around people.
“But there’s a certain feeling that I was able to experience when I knew that this is my person, because I didn’t.
“I don’t feel nervous, I feel really peaceful and really calm.
“And I feel like, ‘Oh, I actually feel more nervous when I’m away from you than when I’m with you.’
And that’s when I was like, ‘Ah, that’s a good sign.’”
Dune star Zendaya first met Tom in 2017 on the set of Spider-Man: Homecoming.
They went public with their relationship in 2021.
They got engaged in January last year, with Zendaya showing off an enormous diamond ring at the Golden Globes.
Her stylist accidentally confessed the couple had wed last month, joking that the public had “missed” their big moment.
Since then, Zendaya has worn a gold band on her wedding finger but has stayed quiet when asked if they have actually married.
She explained: “I just feel like for me there is a level of a parasocial investment in my personal relationship, which I understand.
“I’m aware that I’m a public person and so is he. But I’m also a very private person and I try my best to have things for myself and for him as well.”
Zendaya has been busy promoting her film The Drama, with co-star Robert Pattison.
She was pictured in a feathered skirt and jacket from Erdem in New York, ahead of appearing on Jimmy Fallon’s chat show on Wednesday.
Talking to the NYT Modern Love Podcast, she said she and Tom were not trying to cover up their romance, but wanted to protect it.
She said: “We’re just trying to preserve things for ourselves so that we can maintain that joy. I just try to find the balance — what I like to bring up and talk about, and what I’m willing to share.”
