Young boy is rushed to hospital with head injuries after fairground ride incident

A little boy has been released from hospital after receiving a head injury involving a fairground ride at a popular pumpkin farm.

Yorkshire Ambulance Service paramedics transported the child to James Cook University Hospital in Middlesbrough on Friday.

Emergency services were called to the incident at Spilman’s in Thirsk at 7:20pm.

Spilman’s told the Daily Mail the boy was released from hospital later that night.

Worried locals took to Spilman Farming’s Facebook page asking for answers.

The farm responded to concerned comments, letting its customers know the ride was closed on Saturday while assessments were made.

‘We’re so thankful the little boy is okay. We spoke with his mum this morning (Saturday) and will continue to respect the family’s privacy while offering our support.

‘The ride is currently closed while we carry out thorough checks. It’s been a very distressing experience for everyone, and we’re just so relieved he’s recovering.’
