Xabi Alonso ‘could be sacked by Real Madrid as club demand rapid improvement in results and image’

REAL MADRID’S under-fire manager Xabi Alonso is facing the sack unless results AND performances immediately improve.

Real‘s troubles continued under Alonso, 44, on Sunday when they drew 1-1 at Girona in LaLiga.

Alonso will have to improve results and performances for Real

Los Blancos have now drawn all of their last three league matches following their visits at Rayo Vallecano and Elche.

Madrid did beat Olympiacos 4-3 this past Wednesday in the Champions League but it saw them spending the last 10 minutes of the match desperately defending a fragile lead in Greece.

According to The Athletic, pressure is mounting for Alonso after a poor run of results that saw Real’s most recent league victory taking place on November 1 in a 4-0 thrashing of Valencia at Santiago Bernabeu.

Club sources have described the ongoing situation as “very difficult” because the team is playing “very badly”.

Real are second in LaLiga with only one point separating them from leaders Barcelona.
