Woman travelling solo makes sinister discovery under her bed after noticing a ‘weird smell’

A solo-travelling model was left horrified after she discovered the source of a ‘weird smell’ in her hotel in Tokyo.

Natalisi Taksisi said she found ‘a pair of eyes staring at me’ when she looked under her bed as tried to find the cause of the smell.

The terrified young woman said she began screaming and jumped away as the man wriggled out from under the bed and just stared at her.

‘Those seconds felt like my life was over,’ she said.

But the influencer never found out how the man broke into her room – which can only be accessed with a key card – as there was no CCTV in the building and the creep had run away by the time the police arrived.

They did discover a power bank and USB cable under the bed but despite the shocking violation, the hotel refused to refund her stay.

‘I booked my solo trip to Japan because I thought Japan was a very safe country,’ Ms Taksisi said.

The solo-traveller had already stayed at the hotel for one night with no issues when she made the bizarre discovery.

When she came back to her room at around 7.30pm after a day of sightseeing, she first thought the strange smell came from her own hair or even the sheets.

‘The place looked legit, and I had a key card which gave me access to the hotel and my room. The first day, everything was fine.

‘The next day, after a day of sightseeing, I came back around 7.30 pm, unlocked my room like usual, took off my clothes, and lay down on the bed.

‘Then I noticed a weird smell.

‘At first I thought it was coming from my hair or the bed sheets, but then I realised it was coming from under the bed.

‘When I leaned over to check, I saw a pair of eyes staring at me.

‘I saw a man under my bed, and I started to scream and jumped to my feet.

‘The man climbed out from under the bed and stared at me for three seconds.

‘Those seconds felt like my life was over.’

Shaken, Ms Taksisi called for help straight away and hotel staff rang the police.

Authorities found a power bank and a USB cable underneath the bed, as reported by NeedToKnow.

According to Ms Taksisi, the hotel informed her that police would struggle to find the suspect as there are no CCTV cameras inside the building.

The young woman, who currently lives in Thailand, felt so ‘scared and unsafe’ that she moved to a different hotel that same night, requesting a full refund from her current stay.

But Ms Taksisi did not receive any compensation from her £449 stay for three nights.

She said: ‘I kept asking the hotel, “How did it happen?”, and they didn’t have any answer for me.

‘They suggested upfront that police wouldn’t find the intruder because they have no cameras.’

Haunted by her terrifying run-in, Ms Taksisi said ‘the next days of my trip were a nightmare’.

‘I couldn’t sleep, and I was constantly on edge, checking every corner of my room,’ she said.

‘I’m left wondering how someone could get into my room, how someone knew that I was alone in my room.

‘And how can the hotel not take responsibility for such a severe breach of safety?’
