
A WOMAN has died after suffering “serious injuries” during an alleged fight outside a bar – as a teenager is arrested on suspicion of murder.
Cops have launched an investigation after the alleged assault in North Shields, Tyne and Wear, last night.

Officers were scrambled to Russell Street after the incident was flagged by ambulance crews shortly after 10pm.
The victim, aged in her 40s, was “seriously injured” during a fight outside a bar in the town centre, police said.
She was rushed to hospital in a critical condition, but despite the best efforts of medical teams, sadly died of her injuries.
Northumbria Police confirmed a man, in his teens, had been arrested on suspicion of murder following the “tragic incident”.
The force said: “An investigation has been launched after a woman sadly died following a suspected assault in North Tyneside.
“Shortly after 10pm last night, we received a report via the ambulance service of concern for the welfare of a woman on Russell Street.
“It was reported that an altercation had taken place, where as a result, a woman has sustained a serious injury.
“Emergency services attended and the woman, aged in her 40s, was taken to hospital in a critical condition.
“Sadly, despite the efforts of medical staff, she died a short time later.
“An investigation has now been launched to determine the full circumstances surrounding the incident.
“A man, aged in his teens, has since been arrested on suspicion of murder.
“While a woman, aged in her 50s, has been arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender.
“A cordon is in place and officers remain at the scene – anyone with concerns is encouraged to speak to them.”
