
A MUM accidentally drove her car into a swimming pool with her young daughter after mistaking the gas pedal for the brakes.
The 38-year-old woman drove her Jaguar XF into the indoor pool after crashing through a glass window – leaving onlookers shocked.
Pictures show the car in the middle of the municipal swimming pool in La Ciotat, France.
Her 5-year-old daughter was still inside the car when it went down in the water.
Two live guards jumped in to rescue the mum and the kid.
It is understood that no one – including the swimmers was injured in the accident.
The local town hall said: “The occupants were able to be extracted from the vehicle, and there were no injuries.
French media reported that the woman confused the brake and accelerator pedals on the automatic motor.
She first slammed through the glass facade of the building before driving her car into the water.
An operation to remove the car has now begun – and the swimming pool will remain closed for several days.
The 900 cubic meters of water in the swimming pool, polluted by the vehicle, will also be drained before the facility reopens to the public in several weeks.
It comes after another woman drove her car straight into the outdoor swimming pool of a hotel.
The incident, which occurred in 2022, narrowly missed two children who were playing in the swimming pool at the time.

Local media reported that the unnamed woman had been driving on the BR-135 highway in Cristino Castro, north-eastern Brazil when she suddenly lost control.
Luckily, two girls who were having a dip at the time had a lucky escape as the wayward vehicle missed them by a whisker.
The woman behind the wheel was unhurt and managed to get out of the submerged car with help from people at the scene.
Police arrived and removed the sunken car from the pool using a tow truck.
