
A WOMAN, 27, has tragically died after she was found with serious injuries at a house – as cops arrest a man on suspicion of murder.
Emergency services rushed to a property on Warwickshires Way in Horncastle at around 4.20pm on Thursday.
It followed reports the woman had been found with serious injuries.
But despite the efforts to save her she was pronounced dead at the scene.
A 34-year-old man has since been arrested on suspicion of murder as detectives launched an urgent probe.
Cops say they are not currently hunting anyone else in connection with the death.
A heavy police presence remains in the quiet residential area as officers work to piece together exactly what happened.
Detective Chief Inspector Andy McWatt urged the public to come forward with any information as the investigation continues.
He said: “We are at the very early stages of our investigation and are keeping an open mind as to how this tragic incident unfolded.
“Our priority is to establish the full circumstances surrounding this death.
“We are urging anyone who may have seen or heard anything – no matter how insignificant it may seem – to contact us.
“Any piece of information could prove vital in helping us piece together exactly what happened and in securing justice for the victim.”
