A woman who hasn’t cooked a meal for herself in a decade has confessed she spends more than £500 per week on takeaways and restaurants.
Saffron Boswell, 26, from Brentwood, said she always orders in or eats out for all three meals – and hasn’t eaten a home cooked meal since she moved out at 16.
In a typical day, Saffron will head to a local cafe for a full English breakfast, before tucking in to a meal from Pizza Express or KFC for lunch.
Then, for dinner, she either dines out at Nandos or orders a Dominos pizza.
The 26-year-old said she can spend as much as £60 per day on food – but she thinks its still cheaper than cooking for herself.
She said: ‘If you’re cooking from scratch, it costs a fortune. I don’t cook, I don’t enjoy it at all – I’ve tried, and it’s a disaster.
‘I’m not going to spend £50 on making dinner for it to turn out c**p. It doesn’t make sense to me.’
Saffron said she didn’t know it was unusual to eat out this often, because ‘all my friends are the same’.

‘The people who say it’s cheaper to cook are probably just throwing some chicken nuggets in the oven,’ she said.
‘Food shopping is stressful, and it [ordering food] takes that stress away. My life is so on the go, I don’t have time to spend hours over the stove.’
She has insisted that she is healthy and ‘feels good’ despite her diet.
‘I just want to live life, and I think that when it’s your time, it’s your time,’ Saffron said.
‘It’s inevitable, so I just want to live and enjoy life. I have the money, and life’s too short.’

But on top of all her meals out, Saffron also spends around £200 a week on snacks.
The full-time content creator – who boasts over 110,000 followers on TikTok, where she documents her life – went to cooking lessons in an attempt to improve her skills but couldn’t get the hang of it.
Saffron said: ‘I started making my own money when I was 16, and then I moved out.
‘I believe that if I was from a family of cooks, it would be very different, but my family are a roast chicken and frozen Yorkshire pudding kind of family.
‘I’ve even had cooking lessons, but I didn’t enjoy it.’
