THE WINTER PARALYMPICS have already been rocked before they even started as two curling stones have been stolen.
The Games are scheduled to officially begin on Friday’s opening ceremony but drama has already ensued.
CBC reported that World Curling spokesperson Chris Hamilton confirmed in an email that two rocks were taken from the Cortina Curling Olympic Stadium.
Hamilton said: “The authorities are currently investigating the theft.”
The Paralympics’ organising committee confirmed replacement stones have already been sourced.
The mixed doubles teams were made aware of the situation at a team meeting on Wednesday in Cortina.
Other four-person teams were sent information regarding the stolen stones earlier today.
The wheelchair mixed doubles competition is set to begin on Wednesday in Cortina.
This is not the first time drama ensues in curling as there was also a massive row during last month’s Winter Olympics.
There were allegations of cheating during the match between Sweden and Canada.

It all started when Swedish captain Niklas Edin was caught on camera between the second and third ends alleging that the opponents were double-touching the stones.
Double touching involves making contact with the granite stone after releasing the handle – something which is strictly forbidden.
The accusations rumbled on throughout the contest before Canada‘s Marc Kennedy flipped and yelled: “You can f*** off!”
