The actor in question is Crocodile Dundee star Paul Hogan.

The Australian movie star has opened up about his son Chance, 27, who has recently sparked concern.

The dad-of-five shares his youngest child with his second wife, and Crocodile Dundee co-star, Linda Kozlowski – who he divorced in 2014.

Speaking on the chat show Today, Paul revealed he wanted to move back Down Under but was unable to do so as he needed to stay in America to “be with his son”.

“I have business reasons and my son to stay in the States for now,” he said.

When asked how his son was doing, Paul candidly said: “Alright. Better than he gets.

“He gets a lot of tabloid stuff, but he’s a terrible person because he knows they’re watching him and he puts something on for them.”

Chance, who is an aspiring musician, lives in Venice Beach with his dad.

However, Paul is referring to how his son frequently makes headlines over his erratic behaviour.

Chance most recently sparked concern for his welfare back in January, when he posted a video where he appeared intoxicated.

He was seen slurring his words and said to the camera: “This is my life. This is what it’s been reduced to.”

Chillingly he added: “Please. Please kill me. I’m begging you.”

Paul shot to fame playing the title role in the Crocodile Dundee films.

He was also well known on British TV for Foster’s lager adverts, playing an Australian abroad in London.

The line “Struth, there’s a bloke down there with no strides on!” followed him around for years.

Following his successful career, Paul now prefers to maintain a low profile.

In November 2022, the actor appeared in an interview on A Current Affair to discuss the extent of his health struggles.

He said: “[I’ve] been better. I had a problem on the aorta in the kidney and the treatment fixed it, but it shrunk me,’

“I just… I’ve lost all my body fat and the muscles all shrank and the strength has come back, because it left me feeble. I get Chance to open jars for me.”
