Why Britain’s Got Talent’s standout performance poet will NEVER win the show – and the genius reason ITV have drummed up hype around him regardless

Performance poet Sonny Green wowed the Britain’s Got Talent judges in his audition, but a new theory has ‘revealed’ why he won’t win.

The 30 year old from Southend showcased his act to Simon Cowell, Amanda Holden, Alesha Dixon and KSI on the February 28 episode.

Despite him receiving glowing feedback from the judges, a TikToker suggested Sonny won’t go on to be crowned the victor – and explained why.

TikTok user @adamjamesontv said in a video: ‘If you saw Britain’s Got Talent last night, I’m going to tell you why the standout act can’t win.

‘He is gonna go quite far, most likely to the final.

‘They’re gonna put fake cheering on there, fake whoops, everything, so they support him as much as possible.

‘But for the viewers at home, it just won’t translate. You won’t get the same feeling.’

He continued: ‘The viewing and voting public are fickle and they want high octane entertainment.

‘ITV and the production company essentially want to show that they’re on the side of everything that he’s saying.

‘They’ve got a social responsibility. They’re essentially using him.’

It comes after BGT judge Amanda, 55, revealed head judge Simon, 66, finally dropped his ‘Mr Soft act’ and has returned to his straight-talking self.

She said previously: ‘Simon is back. He’s been Mr Soft in recent years, and I think it has a lot to do with the fact that KSI is so honest on the other end of the panel.

‘He’s not honest in a bad way, just very to the point, and he doesn’t sugar coat anything.

‘I think Simon’s just gone, “actually, do you know what? Whatever you’re saying, I agree with that as well. And I don’t know why I just didn’t say that in the beginning”.

‘I’m glad to see that Simon is no longer being soft serve ice-cream, although it was nice for a year or so!’

Amanda added: ‘It feels very loose and very chaotic this year! And I think having KSI there, who’s very succinct in his answers and doesn’t hold back, has really helped the show.

‘We’ve got the old Simon back, and his one liners are better than ever and I’m loving that!’

Elsewhere, ratings hit a new all time low, amid rumours the long running series could be axed.

After gracing TV screens for almost 20 years and originally drawing a whopping 10M viewers, last week’s launch was the lowest ever, attracting just 3M.

But now in another brutal blow for ITV, 100K less tuned in to Saturday’s second episode, which featured KSI stomping on the Golden Buzzer for a 16-year-old musical magician.

Former juggernaut BGT was beaten in the ratings by BBC’s Michael McIntyre’s Big Show who drew in 3.5M, while 3M watched Gladiators.

A BGT spokesperson said: By Sunday morning, contestant content from the episode had generated 14.5M views with 7.8mM coming from contestant Rafferty Coope alone’.

Bookies make it just 2/1 that the Britain’s Got Talent will be axed after the current outing ends.

Nicola McGeady of Ladbrokes said: ‘Gone are the days when Britain’s Got Talent was raking in mammoth viewing figures.

‘As the numbers fall, so do the odds and we are now questioning the show’s future.’

During Saturday’s show fans were left ‘bawling’ as the competition returned to screens with a brand new group of hopefuls.

During the show, emotional scenes saw KSI jump on top of the judges desk and stomp on the Golden Buzzer for magician Rafferty Coope after he left the panel speechless with his ‘never before seen’ act.

Rafferty, who calls himself the musical magician, explained how, for his act, he would be combining his two passions before passing an earphone through a solid glass in the palm of Simon Cowell’s hand.

He went on to showcase an impressive card trick which led to him playing Journey’s Don’t Stop Believin on piano – leaving KSI speechless.
