PEOPLE are travelling from far and wide to watch this year’s thrilling World Darts Championship at Ally Pally – but the infamous wasp has had the best seat in the house.
The wasp has often caused havoc at tournaments which take place at the venue in North London.

Back in 2023, Ross Smith was stung by it and then named it a “little w*****” in an interview.
And it struck again during Friday night’s action with it going after Smith once more during his brutal World Darts Championship exit.
Even world No1 Luke Littler had to dodge the wasp during his on-stage interview after beating Darius Labanauskas 3-0.
But everyone wants to know why the flying troublemaker is around even at this time of the year.
Why are there wasps at Ally Pally during the World Darts Championship?
Alexandra Palace, which opened in 1875, is a Grade II listed building which means it is difficult to get planning permission.
It is a big venue and there are lots of nooks and crannies where a Queen Wasp can infiltrate and then build a nest for the winter.
Others have a different theory.
There is a lot of open parkland in the area and the wasps look for someone warm and dry.
According to other fans, Ally Pally is an extremely old building which makes it a great place for wasps to set up their nests during the winter period.
The main reason they come out at the darts and the snooker competitions is because the atmosphere generates a huge amount of temperature and light that makes wasps believe its time to wake up.
In addition to that, the sweet-smelling food and drink reportedly attract them in their droves.
Fans mention that the only way it can ever be solved is if Ally Pally is upgraded to seal up all the places where the wasps make their home.
