YOU might have seen him at press conferences or weigh-ins and wondered what he’s doing on stage – if you’re not already one of his army of followers, that is.
Here we get to know Rick Reeno, the very vocal and online savvy CEO of Ring Magazine.

Who is Rick Reeno?
Rick Reeno is the chief executive officer (CEO) of Ring Magazine, the major boxing publication.
He is based in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Reeno previously founded and ran BoxingScene.com, one of the most trafficked boxing portals in the world, offering news updates, results and commentary all day every day.
The site was acquired in June 2018 by CBS (which became ViacomCBS and then Paramount).
Reeno was also a founding partner and has held senior leadership roles at other combat sport media outlets, including BoxingMedia.com and WrestleNet.com.
He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and Management from St John’s University, which he earned between 1995 and 1999.
Reeno’s professional background includes experience in sales, construction, real estate and promotions.
He has a big following and presence on social media platforms, where he represents and promotes Ring Magazine and its events.
Reeno goes by the handle @versaceboxing on Instagram, where he has almost 100k followers as of November 2025.
His profile is exactly what you would imagine – pics and videos taken at massive fight nights and selfies with celebs like Pierce Brosnan and Rod Stewart.
The publication, originally founded in 1922, is a historic and influential voice in boxing.
Reeno’s role places him at the forefront of its modern operations, especially as the magazine expands into event promotion and broader business development activities under new ownership.
When did Rick Reeno join Ring Magazine?
Reeno’s association with Ring Magazine started while major changes were underway in the ownership and direction of the publication.
He has played a central role in the magazine’s transformation after it was sold by Oscar De La Hoya’s Golden Boy Promotions to a consortium led by Turki Alalshikh, chairman of the General Entertainment Authority of Saudi Arabia, in November 2024.

It was around this period that Reeno started spearheading Ring Magazine’s online development.
Per LinkedIn, he became chief operating officer in September 2024, before taking on the role of CEO in July 2025.
Under the ownership of the consortium led by Alalshikh, Ring Magazine has evolved from a primarily editorial publication into an active promotional brand, hosting major boxing events.
Reeno has been instrumental in relaunching the magazine’s print edition, expanding its digital presence, and launching new initiatives like the Underdog series and weekly boxing show Inside the Ring on DAZN.
A new Ring “mega-belt” was unveiled in June 2025, which was up for grabs in the Canelo Alvarez vs Terence Crawford undisputed super middleweight championship fight in September, which was won in impressive fashion by Bud.
Reeno described it as “the most expensive belt ever created”, which reportedly cost £140,000 ($188,000).
He said: “There Can Only Be One. The two best fighters of this era.
“The two best guys out there pound-for-pound, but only one of them is walking away with this belt, with the big win and that’s why there can only be one.”
Reeno added: “For a mega-fight of this magnitude, we wanted to create an exclusive mega-belt.
“So, we spoke to numerous companies all over the world and eventually settled on a top-tier company in the UK.”

Yarde’s first boxing heartbreak came in 2019 when he lost a WBO belt bout to Sergey Kovalev.

But since then, Yarde has put together four consecutive wins, which has ultimately earned him a shot against the undefeated American ace Benavidez.
