NORTHERN IRELAND’S number one darts player Josh Rock will have full focus on winning the 2026 PDC Darts World Championship.
With odds of 16/1 for him to become outright winner of the tournament, “Rocky” is amongst the favourites to win the Sid Waddell Trophy.
And his wife Sarah will be watching on, hoping he can go all the way at Ally Pally.

Who is Josh Rock?
Known by the nickname “Rocky”, Josh’s walk-on music is Welcome to the Party by DJ Krissy.
He made a name for himself in 2022 when he hit a nine-dart finish at the Grand Slam of Darts, becoming the first player to do so in their debut year at the prestigious event.
Rocky continued his growth by becoming World Youth Champion later that same year after averaging an impressive 104.13 in the final.
Two years later and he secured his first European Tour title as he beat Jonny Clayton to win the 2024 Dutch Darts Championship.
Two of his four Players Championship titles also came in 2024, followed by a win in Leicester at the start of April 2025.
He most recently won the 2025 World Cup of Darts alongside Daryl Gurney, leading Northern Ireland to their first ever World Cup title.
Rock is currently number 11 in the world and is one of the favourites to win the World Championship.
Last time out he made it to the round of 32 before losing out to Chris Dobey, but this year he goes in with more confidence off the back of his recent success.
Who is Josh Rock’s wife Sarah?
Rock is married to Sarah Kirkpatrick.
He proposed to his spouse in December 2022, shortly before that year’s PDC World Championship began.
Detailing how the pair became engaged, Rock revealed at the tournament: “After I won the World Youth title, she threw a surprise party at our local club.
“I thought it was the right time to pop the question – and she said yes.”
Josh is a stepfather to Kirkpatrick’s young son Jay, who has autism.
The sportsman became an ambassador for a children’s autism charity after Jay was diagnosed with the condition.
When is the World Darts Championship on?
The World Darts Championship begins this week, with the first round starting at Ally Pally on December 11.
A record-breaking 128 players will compete in the world’s biggest darts tournament.
Its conclusion will be on January 3, 2026, when the final will be played.
This years winner will receive the Sid Waddell Trophy and £1 million in prize money.
