Who is Dara Tah?

Dara Tah was born on January 17, 1996, in Sligo, Ireland.

He is a YouTube star and social media influencer, best known for his adventurous and thrill-seeking content.

Dara has very publicly stated that he intends to become “Ireland’s biggest YouTuber ever”.

As of August 29, 2025, he has garnered over 828k YouTube subscribers and more than 725k TikTok followers, which already makes him one of the country’s top online content creators.

His videos regularly showcase extreme survival challenges, as well as dangerous and daring exploits.

These include surviving 50 hours on a remote island filled with monkeys, sneaking onto the world’s deadliest island and staying overnight in a nuclear bunker.

Before making social media his full-time career, Dara trained to become a clinical psychologist.

In August 2025, Dara stirred controversy with a video he posted featuring an encounter with an isolated indigenous tribe in Papua, Indonesia, described as a “cannibal tribe.”

The footage shows Dara and a small group approaching the tribe by boat, with some tribesmen pointing bows and arrows at them.

“I think they’re pointing bows and arrows at us, bro,” one of Dara’s crew says anxiously.

“Seriously, this is terrifying,” Dara mutters, his hand raised in a shaky wave.

“Seriously, they are huge bows.”

The dumb daredevil then attempts to win favour by waving packets of salt in the air.

After one of the tribesman tasted it, spat it out and fixed a menacing glare on him, Dara said: “Oh God, he doesn’t look like he likes that. All right guys, let’s move back maybe.”

His local guide Demi was then heard apologising: “I’m sorry I took you here.”

The group then retreated, realising that that they were not welcome and that the situation was distinctly dangerous.

Dara said they would try again to make contact at a later date,  but the stupid stunt sparked significant and justified backlash online.

The bizarre stunt, filmed in August 2025, has sparked fury online after Dara described the group as a tribe of “cannibals”.

Furious viewers blasted him for disturbing the community, with one posting: “Leave them alone and they are not cannibals!”

Another commented: “They are not cannibal, they are just people living a peaceful life.”
