Aw, poor Bingley. All the walking and door-knocking was for nothing.
NUTTIN’
All the bitchin’ and moanin’ and packed rallies by New Jersey native Jack Ciattarelli was for nothing.
NUTTIN’
And the chances of now getting out from under some of the onerous taxes in the state, the whackjob regulations, insane energy policies…hell. Even getting your grocery bag rights restored?
FUGGEDABOUDIT
Energy costs in the state were some of the hardest fought rhetorical battles, with the Republican challenger showing he had a keen grasp of what the state had been capable of as far as energy independence before the Murphy administration had taken it off the Green energy transition deep end.
Jersey Mikie Sherrill, on the other hand, had nothing but platitudinous chirping about ‘affordability’ except for the few times her climate cult mask slipped.
And now that the contest has been decided, it looks as if the majority of New Jersey voters, for all the complaints about utility rates and ugly windmills, have decided that verminous Phil Murphy’s vision of squandering the few still functional remnants of the state’s once envied, reliable base power generation system are worth the cost.
Murphy has just released his last Energy Maintenance Plan for the state, and like the EMP it shares an acronym with, it will blow a hole in family and business budgets while destroying New Jersey’s reliable energy sources once and for all.
…Gov. Phil Murphy announced the release of the latest EMP Monday, which builds on the 2019 EMP. It details the energy goal his administration has achieved and guidance for the future.
“This report is the culmination of our no-regrets strategy to tackling the challenges of energy affordability, supply and demand, and climate change,” Murphy said. “I am proud of all that we’ve been able to achieve to make our energy sector cleaner and more efficient over the past eight years. This report’s recommendations will help guide energy policy to new heights in the future.”
Sherrill’s reaction?
Oh, YAY!
While of course vacuously chirping about affordability as she did during the campaign, because if at first unicorn farts fail, it’s inevitable the cult will force a retry again and again.
Failure is always an option.
…But the plan is still to have the Garden State generate 100 percent of its energy from renewable sources by 2035, and to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 80 percent by 2050. That involves phasing out natural gas plants and a heavy focus on electrification.
Another pillar of the report is affordability, which Sherrill also made a major factor in her gubernatorial campaign. Several of the Murphy administration’s recommendations have already been implemented.
Of course, there are still skeptical voices being raised, but who cares, right?
THEY DIDN’T WIN
…[State Sen. Anthony] Bucco also said that residents deserve more transparency on costs.
“Doubling down on full electrification by 2035 will only make the state’s energy challenges worse and push our utility rates even higher. These unrealistic mandates will only serve to further strain our grid, increase costs, and undermine reliability,” Bucco said.
It’s the Jersey Mikie Show now, baby.
And who better to hold the hand of the new governor-elect than a fellow sister in the ethically challenged, true Green grifting believer coven, right?
Every incoming administration needs transition experts, and whoo wee, dawg, did Sherrill pick hers.
For their competence?
Ah…nope.
For their integrity?
Nyet.
But you can bet she picked her new Energy Transition Team leader for her previous experience.
Jennifer Granholm knows her way around both a climate cult mandate and a government dollar.
For #NJ Voters’ Sins, They’re Getting the #BidenAdministration in Exile Hoo haw, #NewJersey. You elected a nuttier-than-most #MikieSherrill and now you’re getting the #radical #JenniferGranholm as head of your #energy review. Bundle up, kiddies. https://t.co/HgCgVB1SFD

‘Bundle up, kiddies‘ is right.
Mikie Sherrill Taps Jennifer Granholm, Architect of Unpopular Biden-Era Green Policies, To Lead Energy Transition Team

As for that ethics thing.

It’s New Jersey.
How it started: Biden Energy Secretary Jennifer Granholm gave a power company a $600 million grant.
How it’s going: Jennifer Granholm just got a sweet gig on the board of said power company. pic.twitter.com/LPZNKolbDk

…“Secretary of Energy Jennifer Granholm committed a “flagrant” violation of ethics rules by using her official position to promote products of her former employer, electric bus manufacturer Proterra”
Nobody remotely cares how Granholm made her money – Jersey voters obviously had no problem with how Sherrill made hers.
And now they get the ‘gooder and harder’ part of the energy transition from a woman of middling intellect who was so deep into the cult that she tried to dictate the energy efficiany of ceiling fans and buried a contradictory study to push the Biden administration’s liquid natural gas export ban.
Granholm is just what the gooder harder doctor ordered.
New Jersey governor-elect Mikie Sherrill (D.) turned to former energy secretary Jennifer Granholm, an architect of Biden-era green energy policies—which polls show are unpopular with Garden State voters—to co-chair her transition team’s energy task force.
The governor-elect’s energy team is a quasi-reunion of Biden administration alumni—in addition to Granholm, former Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) member Allison Clements will serve as its other co-chair.
It’s a signal that although Sherrill ran to the middle on energy issues during her gubernatorial campaign, she is prepared to govern as a climate hawk. Granholm and Clements have a long history of supporting far-left policies, such as EV mandates, gas stove bans, and expensive offshore wind projects—policies New Jerseyans broadly do not support.
Granholm was one of the Biden administration’s leading cheerleaders of EVs. As energy secretary, she urged Americans to switch from gas-powered cars to EVs, downplayed concerns about EV ownership like cost and range anxiety, and boasted of the administration’s billion-dollar handouts directed to the EV industry.
Fewer than 10 percent of new car purchases in New Jersey are battery electric, according to the latest industry data, even with a state law requiring electric cars make up 43 percent of new car purchases by 2027. The figure also reflects the views of New Jerseyans, the majority of whom say they wouldn’t consider buying an EV and oppose EV mandates, according to a 2024 Rutgers University poll.
Maybe New Jerseyans should have remembered what they told CNN in the poll about Evs before they then went and voted for the Democrats across the board, hmm?
This move also proves that Sherrill ran as a lying, middle-of-the-road waffler until she won, whereupon she ripped off the reasonable mask in a Mamdani-esque maneuver, like a gooder and harder horror movie or something.
Or something yet to be determined.
