What are the Snooker Shoot Out 2025 rules?

Matches as the Snooker Shoot Out are played over one frame and each match cannot last over ten minutes.

A shot clock is in place that gives players 15 seconds to take a shot in the first five minutes of the frame – before it drops to ten seconds for the second half of the match.

The player with the most points at the end of the ten minutes, or when all the balls have been potted progresses to the next round.

In another change to the traditional rules, a foul is called if the ball does not hit a cushion or go into a pocket and if so, the opponent gets the ball in hand.

Should a match end as a tie, a blue ball shoot out decides the winner.

It sees the cue ball put into ‘the D’ and the blue ball placed on its spot. It is then ‘sudden death’ to pot the ball – until one player pots the blue more times than their opponent from an equal number of shots.

The draw is randomised prior to every round to determine who plays who.
