A WELLNESS influencer has been forced to apologise after backlash over comments she made about fuel and boasting about “owning a Porsche at 28.”
The Aussie star has been slammed for being “uneducated” and “tone deaf” after flaunting her riches amid the country’s spiralling fuel crisis.
Georgie Stevenson found fame through her YouTube and Instagram platforms, where she shares health, wellness and body positivity content.
The 32-year-old businesswoman has a multi‑million‑dollar empire thanks to her brand NU Harvest and her “mindset and manifestation” app, Rise And Conquer.
But, positive energy hasn’t been the only thing Georgie has been digging into online.
She came under fire in a now-deleted post to social media, which saw her slate the people complaining about fuel prices.
The influencer could be seen casually sipping on an ice coffee in her kitchen alongside a caption which slammed those complaining, despite prices reaching $2.40 per litre for unleaded and $2.84 for diesel on average in NSW.
Georgia caption the bizarre post: “Some people choose to complain about the cost of fuel.
“Other people chose to build their own success, co-own three companies and buy a Porsche at 28 years old. I’m other people.”
Fans of the social media star were furious and they took to the comments to let their rage known.
Georgia received a slew of backlash as fans dubbed her “delusional” and “ignorant.”
One person penned: “Some people complain because they literally have to choose between fuel and groceries. But hey, at least being delusional is free – that we CAN afford!
“Seriously… read the room. Calling people “complainers” while they are funding your lifestyle is wild. Go touch some grass.”
Another user wrote: “A full [tank] of petrol for a family size car is up to $250+ for some families. That’s the difference between putting food on the table and paying rent.
“Do you even know why fuel prices have gone up? Are you aware there is a war going on and people are dying? You’re actually so ignorant and up your own a**.”
Meanwhile, third person added: “‘She is as tone deaf as they get. Has zero concept of the real world.”
The average price for petrol in Australia has spiked by more than 20 per cent since the US and Israel launched wide-ranging strikes on Iran on February 28.
The wellness influencer also subtly bragged about owning a Porsche.
To which fans called her out saying, “this isn’t the flex you think it is.”
Georgia quickly removed the post after the intense response from fans and has now broken her silence.
She said: “Over the weekend, a trial reel was posted that didn’t align with my beliefs.
“Why did this go out? An external agency I hired to help with content posted a trial reel that I had not approved. I realise how serious this is considering it’s my account, my face and ultimately, my brand
“The messaging behind the post completely missed the mark, and it was out of touch and incredibly insensitive. However, catching it was my job and I failed to do so. I took action and removed it.”
Georgie added: “I’m back from maternity leave and trying to adopt new systems and processes. It’s clear that some of these need refinement and I take full responsibility for that…
“I feel disappointed this was posted to my page. I would never want someone to feel hurt or less than, so I am deeply sorry.
“I’m conscious this might seem like just another apology post from an influencer, but please know this has been a wake-up call, and something like this will never happened again.”
