COLD weather is playing havoc with my skin.
The central heating is zapping just as much moisture from my face as the bitter winds outside, so hydrating face mists have become my beauty must-have.
These are three of the best.
BUDGET
The INKEY List Hydro-Surge Dewy Face Mist, 75ml, £8.75 on sale, spacenk.com:
I’ve had this mist on my desk for months, using it mostly to revive my base when I need to apply more make-up at the end of the day.
But in the last couple of weeks, I’ve been reaching for it far more regularly.
The relatively short ingredients list is packed with nourishing stuff like glycerin and cucumber extract to boost moisture levels, and the brand claims it delivers 12 hours of hydration, yet it’s not heavy or oily on my skin.
The dinky bottle means it doesn’t take up too much space in my bag, which is great for on the go!
MID-RANGE
Elemis Superfood Multi Mist, £30 for 100ml, lookfantastic.com:
I’m a huge fan of the Elemis Superfood range – it’s packed full of skin-loving probiotics and vitamins to boost radiance.
But on the whole, it’s cheaper than the brand’s big-name collections like Pro-Collagen and Dynamic Resurfacing.
This mist is my most-used product from the range, thanks to the four-in-one formula that acts as a toner, moisturiser and primer for make-up as well as a setting spray.
Coconut water, aloe vera and rooibos tea make it the green juice equivalent for skin, and help leave you glowing, even in the depths of winter.
LUXURY
Wildsmith Super Moisturising Treatment Mist, £40 for 100ml , wildsmithskin.com:
Wildsmith is one of the most underrated beauty brands in my stash, with luxury products that quietly work their magic behind unassuming packaging.
This mist is no different.
It contains calendula, which my skin loves, especially when it’s red and sore, as well as hyaluronic and amino acids to strengthen the skin barrier, and comforting neroli and rose, which make the spritz smell like a relaxing spa.
The mist is super-fine, too, so it doesn’t ruin make-up when topping up during the day.
PICK OF THE WEEK
I CAN’T remember the last time I wore lipstick.
I’ve found hydrating glosses and oils are much better at this time of year for preventing chapped lips, an d you can top them up without the need for a mirror.
This month, four new shades of NARS’ non-sticky Afterglow Lip Oil, £27, hit shelves, each containing omega 6 and 9 as well as vitamins E and A to keep lips nourished.
