KAI ROONEY has ramped up his return from injury after suffering a huge blow at the start of the season.
The son of Manchester United legend Wayne has been out of action since the start of September.
Kai was on a rapid ascent, earning a call-up to United’s Under-19s side, where he held his own against professionals four-years his senior.
The 16-year-old has been sidelined for two months after returning home from a match with his right foot in a protective boot.
Rooney was distressed after picking up the injury, posting an image of the boot on his Instagram story alongside the caption: “Life can’t get worse.”
The star, who only celebrated his 16th birthday on Sunday, had made a strong start to the season that saw him earn praise from fans after scoring against Middlesbrough Under-18s in August.
But Kai posted snaps on Tuesday dressed in football boots and United’s training gear with the timer emojis – confirming his return to the grass.
The teenage forward spent part of his recovery time in Dubai with his dad last week.
Wazza, 40, was back in Dubai to lead coaching sessions during October half-term as part of his new job with Football Escapes.
Rooney was in charge of tutoring young children at the Jumeirah Beach Hotel, with former England defender Michael Dawson helping out.

The United legend met up with his old Old Trafford team-mate Rio Ferdinand, who has relocated to the Middle East with wife Kate and the couple’s children.
Rio’s son Lorenz, 19, signed his first professional contract with Brighton in August.
