TESS Daly and Claudia Winkleman have halted Strictly Come Dancing just minutes into Saturday night’s show with an “announcement”.
After revealing La Voix has been forced to exit the show following an injury, the pair revealed nobody will be leaving the show this weekend.
Tess began: “This year Blackpool is going to be even more special.”
She turned to the contestants and said: “Listen up everyone, because we have an announcement.
“We can reveal no-one will be leaving Strictly this weekend.”
The announcement prompted a huge response from the celebrities and pro dancers as they jumped in the air with excitement and hugged one another.
Tess went on to reveal that although nobody would be leaving, the points from the judges and the viewers votes will be carried over to next week.
She continued: “Nobody is leaving, you are all safe, there is no dance off.
Claudia added: “Congratulations, you will all be back next Saturday.”
Clarifying to viewers, Tess expressed: “Although nobody is leaving, the judges will be scoring and you at home can vote for your favourites and both will be carried over and added to next week so there is still everything to dance for.”
Fans flocked to X to share their reactions as one gushed: “THERE IS NO ELIMINATION OMG YES!!”
Somebody else commented: “I would have revealed the no elimination after they’ve danced, because now they have no pressure whatsoever.”
BBC bosses confirmed during tonight’s live show at the Blackpool Tower that La Voix won’t be returning to the BBC One dance contest.
She had to step down from competing this week due to a foot injury, but it was hoped she’d be able to return next week.
However the drag artist, 45, who is partnered with Aljaz Skorjanec, won’t be coming back.
The new was revealed at the start of tonight’s live show, with host Tess Daly telling viewers: “We can confirm she has very sadly had to withdraw from the competition.”
Earlier this week, La Voix shared a statement on Instagram that read: “Due to an injury, I’ve been advised that I’m unable to perform, and my heart truly breaks knowing I won’t be dancing in such an iconic venue.
“Aljaž and I have worked incredibly hard, and we were so excited to share our routine with everyone.”
Strictly also released a statement this week, saying: “Due to injury, La Voix has been advised by doctors to rest and, as a result, will not dance in this weekend’s Blackpool specials.
“In line with the rules of Strictly Come Dancing, La Voix and Aljaž will receive a bye through to next week when it is hoped they will be able to dance again.
“We wish La Voix the very best for a speedy recovery.”
La Voix isn’t the first celebrity to be struck down by injury in this series.
Dani Dyer had to quit before the first live show after fracturing her ankle during rehearsals.
Neighbours star Stefan Dennis was also left with no choice but to withdraw after a painful calf injury.
Last weekend saw Vicky Pattison and Kai Widdrington sent home following a tense dance off with Balvinder Sopal and Julian Caillon.
All four judges unanimously decided to save Balvinder, meaning Vicky’s journey on the show was over.
Vicky said: “It was so lovely while it lasted and I’ve had the nicest time.
“I knew this week was a difficult one for me and I tried my hardest, as I have every week.
“Listen, I didn’t think I’d get past week one. And I’m really honoured to have shared this experience with so many amazing people.
“Mostly with this fella right here.
“I don’t want to sound too cheesy but you’ve been the best partner a girl can ask for.
“I’m so sorry I didn’t get you to Blackpool but I feel like I’ve won just by having you as my partner and I’m so grateful.”
