THEY’VE already had a rollercoaster journey so far on Married At First Sight UK, and things are set to get a lot rockier for Julia-Ruth Smith and Divarni Balogun.
In a preview for tonight’s episode, Divarni catches up with fellow groom Bailey and hears some home truths.
He asks his pal: “What have you been hearing man?”
Bailey recalled: “She said, ‘I’ve told that boy ten times, I don’t fancy him. I’ve told him I don’t fancy him.
“She said to the girls that she doesn’t think you’re her type. She said she doesn’t think you’ll ever be her type.
“Now has she been saying that to you?,” Bailey asks Divarni,” as he responds: “Nah, she doesn’t. And that’s the thing.”
Bailey fumes: “F*****g hell. She’s been saying something totally different to everyone else and then behind closed doors.
“It’s not fair, but you’ve been totally respectful and in my opinion, she hasn’t towards you. She’s more concerned about the image rather than your actual feelings. It’s very muggy in my eyes.”
A disheartened Divarni admits: “If I knew that, hey, I could have just put my hands up and just been like, ‘Yo, why am I physically here?’. I don’t know what to do.”
Speaking directly to the camera, a concerned Bailey says: “His head must be totally scrambled and this is all coming through a girl he cares about and really likes.
“It’s out of order innit, it’s bang out of order.”
E4 viewers will have to tune into tonight’s episode to see the drama play out.
The revelation comes after the pair got into an argument after she refused to tell the other couples and the experts that they’d been intimate with one another.
During Wednesday night’s episode, the group discussed which couples had been intimate and who hadn’t.
The group then came to the consensus that Divarni and Julia-Ruth’s marriage was not likely to last long term due to their lack of intimacy, despite the fact the two have actually been intimate.
Not happy with his wife lying to their co-stars, a visibly upset Divarni revealed he was really p***ed off and said: “The group think my marriage is a joke.
“She is spinning a narrative that is not true, but I know the truth. The truth is we have been having sex.
“She lied to the group, she lied to the experts.”
Back at their flat, Julia-Ruth slammed: “ou want me to sit on the couch and tell everyone the sex is s**t?”
Divarni snapped back: “I don’t give a f**k if you said it was shit, at least you are being true to yourself.”
Viewers at home weren’t happy with her as one wrote on X: “Julia Ruth is so manipulative, she wants Divarni to give her respect but she has done nothing but lie on him & disrespect him from the start.
Another added: “Yes Julia-Ruth, your sex life, on MAFS, with your husband, is something to be discussed, as an important part of a relationship. Unless, maybe, sex is really low priority for you.. oh wait.”
After the episode aired, she took to Instagram to have her say and promised “There’s more to the story”.
She expressed: “Oooh it’s a big one being missed this season. Unfortunately I have to back myself on this one again.
“A lot will unfold in the episodes to come (that ASIDE ) lets peal back consent… As a s*xually liberated and empowered woman, I get to choose how I talk about my own body, my own experiences and I decide what to share and what to keep to myself.
“In this experiment everything has to be out in the open for the other couples to evaluate, judge and so on.
“Just because we are on tv and ‘all drama must be saved for camera’ doesn’t mean this changes for consent when it comes to If I want to ‘ have a kiss, see if it works’ and it doesn’t work, or I now feel I need time to figure out how I feel after the act that is up to me and none of the audiences/ couples business.”
