THE new series of Married At First Sight UK has already delivered drama – and tonight’s episode promises one of the most awkward conversations of the series so far.
In a teaser clip from episode two, newlyweds Steven and Nelly sit down for a quiet chat after walking down the aisle.
But what starts as a heart-to-heart on the Channel 4 show quickly turns tense when Steven drops a shock revelation.
At first, Nelly reassures him, saying: “You’ve made me just feel really, really comfortable, and I just want you to know that you can always be honest with me.”
Steven then begins carefully: “So, obviously we’re both family orientated?”
To which Nelly agrees: “Yeah.”
Steven presses on: “What I need is to tell you. I wanted to bring it up sooner. I needed to find the right moment. Alone time, away from sort of families, just me and you. So I’m a dad. Got two kids.”
Nelly looks stony-faced as she processes the bombshell.
She replies: “I’m glad that you could share that with me.”
Steven adds: “Obviously, they are sorting my world kind of thing.”
It’s a tense exchange that will leave viewers wondering how the newlyweds will cope with such a big revelation so soon after tying the knot.
Fans are already up in arms over one bride’s treatment of her groom.
During last night’s launch show, Sarah, 31, left fans fuming following her tree groom Dean, 31.
The Scottish bride cruelly snubbed her groom at the altar, and branded him “over the top”.
The experts matched her with hopeful romantic Dean who wanted to sweep his wife off his feet by rapping for her at the altar.
He said he had “been in love” but had “never been loved” and always ended up being the “best friend” rather than boyfriend.
However, Sarah admitted she had wanted a “bad boy” with “lots of tattoos”
While Dean gushed “this is the woman for me” as the smitten lad paid her a number of compliments, Sarah had her reservations and told the producers: “No, I don’t fancy Dean. So sorry.”
Sarah then angered fans more during a sneak peek to to tonight’s episode when she appeared to fat-shame Dean.
It came when the bride confessed that she had never dated anyone as “big” as Dean, which came as a huge blow to him.
“Have you been with anyone bigger than me?” Dean asked Sarah.

Mafs couples that have stood the test of time
Loved-up Tayah Victoria and Adam Aveling of series six fame had the first Mafs baby.
The pair couldn’t keep their hands off each other on the programme and quickly found their feet in the outside world, moving into Adam’s Doncaster home.
Just 18 months after meeting, the couple welcomed their daughter Beau.
Season five couple Michelle Walder and Owen Jenkins also managed to make their marriage work away from the cameras and had their first child in December.
Teacher Michelle, 29, has no regrets about taking part in the experiment. She told us: “I just feel very lucky and thankful that it has worked out – and excited for everything to come.”
Michelle and Owen were both sick of dating apps when they applied in 2019.
Owen recalled: “I had been out for some drinks with a friend after work.
“While he was out for a cigarette I was scrolling on Instagram waiting for him to come back in.
“The MAFS advert was the last thing I saw, and I joked, ‘Wouldn’t it be funny if I signed up?’
“A few beers later when I was back at home I sent in the application, and the rest is history.”
Another couple to make Mafs UK history is Zoe Clifton and Jenna Robinson.
Despite a slight rocky start, where they clashed over Jenna’s vegan lifestyle, the show’s first same sex pairing are still going strong.
They even have a successful podcast together called Life With a Pod.
Jenna shed light on being involved in the show earlier this year when she told us: “We’re not legally married, and I never felt like we were. I definitely feel the process makes you take the relationship a lot more seriously and having the help of the experts… if you can survive that process it sets a firm foundation for a long-lasting relationship.”
