THIS is the awkward moment a brave Married at First Sight UK groom rapped for his bride at the altar – but it backfired.
Viewers watched through their fingers as the E4 show returned and a fresh batch of couples met for the first time on their wedding day.
The grooms chatted about their fears over tying the knot with a stranger, before diving into the biggest commitment of their lives on TV.
Team-building host Dean, 31, then revealed his plans for his vows.
He told the others: “I’m gona rap them, I can freestyle.”
After delivering a taster of his musical skills, his co-stars were far from impressed.
One groom, Joe, told the cameras: “It’s probably not a good idea Dean rapping at the end of the aisle.”
But the Feltham lad gave it a go in front of a stunned congregation, rapping cheesy lines to wife Sarah: “iIve had hard times true, but I’ll never give up on you.”
It didn’t go down well with his new wife or her family, who were left cringing.
Sarah told the producers: “No, I don’t fancy Dean.
“He’s just over the top which has put me right off.
“I’m feeling a bit overwhelmed, the rap is not something I envisaged. I have to say I was not expecting that.”
Despite the cruel snub, viewers sympathised with both the bride and groom.
One said: “That was such a f*****g hard watch that wedding … When he started rapping.”
Another said: “Poor Dean thinking she liked his rap!”
This viewer said: “Dean you are a sweetheart but that rap was a no from me.”
UNLIKELY MATCH
Before the wedding Sarah told producers she wanted somebody “tall with tats” and her usual type was “bad boys”, but this time she was looking for a “nice guy”.
In his pre-wedding interview, Dean said he had “been in love” but “never been loved”.
He’d been in relationships but had not felt accepted, and “they’d been the prize, I’ve never been the prize.”
He added: “I was with a girl and they said I was too fat. So that’s something you take with you. I’ve always felt like I’m not enough.
“Now I’m ready to find my person.”
The experts discussed their reasons for matching the unlikely pair, with Paul C Brunson explaining: “Dean is the ultimate good guy with a big heart that Sarah has been searching for.
“He’s got boundless positive energy and passion for life. They’re shared love of laughter is sure to unite them.”
