Watch Katie Price’s husband muddle his way through three languages

KATIE Price’s husband Lee Andrews is certainly a smooth talker — but he got a bit tongue-tied showing The Sun his language skills.

The Dubai-based businessman, 42, is fluent in 12 languages, according to Katie, who has been charmed by Lee’s ability to speak Spanish and Arabic, among other foreign tongues.

But when we asked him to repeat a loving phrase about Katie in a variety of languages, it proved tricky.

In fairness, Lee was game for the challenge, despite being put on the spot.

He got off to a strong start, confidently reeling off “Katie is the best thing that’s happened to me, and I want to spend the rest of my life with her” in Spanish.

But Hindi and Arabic proved more difficult, with the exact wording causing problems, while Russian, another of his languages, appeared more straightforward.

FRESH CLAIMS

Picking apart the phrase, Lee said: “I don’t know the word for woman in Hindi. Hindi, I’m going to struggle with because it’s like broken down. And anyone who listens to Hindi will say, ‘that’s not right’ and I want to get it right. But let me try it in Hindi for you.”

After giving it a go inside a branch of Caffe Nero, he continued: “I’m trying to hear word for word the translation, but it would make sense to anyone who understands Hindi or Urdu.

“It’s the same in Pakistani and Hindi, and obviously Arabic is a bit more beautiful because it’s always ‘with peace and salam’ and when you speak you’re speaking obviously the feminine side towards your wife which means ‘I love her’, so ‘Inshallah’.”

He continued: “Spanish is my strong suit. Russian, if I’m with a Russian it’s better to bounce off them.”

Lee then delivered a line in the Slavic language to round off the demo.

It was earlier this month on her YouTube channel that Katie waxed lyrical about Lee’s command of languages.

She gushed: “I can have intelligent conversations, I’m just fascinated by him. He’s so intelligent. He speaks about 12 different languages. Wherever we are, whether we’re in the taxi or the restaurant, all different languages…

“They go to me: ‘Oh my God, he speaks perfect Arabic or perfect this or that’ and you just hear him talk and I’m like: ‘Is he that good?’ and they’re like: ‘It’s perfect’”

It followed confusion over Lee’s educational history after reports emerged he earned a PhD from Cambridge University, before Katie clarified it was actually from a Spanish institution having seen the paperwork.

But Lee told The Sun this week that he has an ‘associates degree by Cambridge Distance Learning Engineering Department’ and insisted he had never claimed to hold a PhD from Cambridge University.

He added that he later enrolled in an honorary doctorate programme, which he likened to a City & Guilds course, and has published two theses.
