CHOCOHOLICS have just HOURS left to bag a bargain as Morrisons is set to axe its massive Christmas chocolate tub deal tonight.
Savvy shoppers are in a race against time to stockpile their festive favourites before the supermarket giant pulls the plug on its £3.95 offer at midnight.
If you’re planning to fill the stockings or just want to dive into a tub of Quality Street in front of the telly, you need to get your skates on.
The supermarket has slashed the price of the “Big Four” tubs including Cadbury Heroes, Cadbury Roses, Celebrations, and Quality Street.
But the sweet deal, which sees tubs plummet from their standard £7 recommended retail price to a wallet-friendly £3.95, ends this evening.
That means once the doors shut or the clock strikes twelve online, the price is likely to shoot back up and leave procrastinators paying nearly double for their sugar fix.
This deal is available only to Morrisons More Card holders.
So if you are not registered or do not present your card at the till, you will be charged the full £7.
Shoppers should also be aware that there is a strict limit of one item per customer, so you cannot clear the shelves in a single trip.
While Morrisons is calling time on their specific deal tonight, the Christmas chocolate wars are still raging on the high street and it pays to know where to look.
Tesco is fighting back with an aggressive counter-attack and is still offering the Quality Street Chocolate Tub for the same rock-bottom price of £3.95.
Clubcard holders can grab the 550g Nestlé favourite for £3.95 rather than the standard £6.00, which works out to a very reasonable 72p per 100g.
Sainsbury’s has also entered the ring to match the market, pricing their Quality Street tubs at £3.95 for Nectar card users, down from a steep £7.00.
However, the Morrisons deal is particularly crucial for fans of Cadbury Heroes and Cadbury Roses, as the other supermarkets are heavily promoting the Nestlé Quality Street tubs right now.
How does the deal work out?
Before you rush to the aisles, it is worth noting that not all tubs are created equal this year because “shrinkflation” has hit the festive favourites hard.
The Quality Street tub weighs in at 550g, which means you are paying just 72p per 100g at the offer price, making it one of the best value options on the shelf.
Cadbury Heroes and Cadbury Roses also weigh 550g, offering that same excellent value of £1.27 per 100g at full price, but dropping massively to roughly 72p per 100g under this deal.
Celebrations tubs are actually the lightest of the bunch at only 500g, meaning you are paying slightly more at roughly 79p per 100g even with the discount.
The bottom line is that if you want the widest choice including the Cadbury options, you must get to Morrisons before the store closes tonight.
If you miss the deadline for Morrisons, you can still head to Tesco or Sainsbury’s for your Quality Street fix, but you might find yourself paying significantly more for the other brands once the Morrisons offer expires.

Buy bigger bars – most of the time, but not always, chocolate is cheaper per 100g the larger the bar.
So if you’ve got the appetite, and you were going to buy a hefty amount of chocolate anyway, you might as well go bigger.
