Warning as Premier League clubs flogging pricey Mother’s Day gifts to football-mad families including £90 jewellery set

PREMIER LEAGUE clubs are targeting football-mad families with their pricey Mother’s Day gifts, a consumer expert has warned.

Some teams have set up dedicated sections on their websites and collaborated with big-name brands including Estee Lauder to flog mum-themed products.

But a number of items are more than double what their non-football equivalent costs on the High Street.

Consumer expert Jane Hawkes told the Sun on Sunday: “Some of these sound like wonderful gifts for mums who are football fans.

“But on occasions like Mother’s Day, prices can go through the roof and when you have got a club selling them they can be eye-watering.

“So I would warn loved ones to make sure they are not getting sucked into buying a gift just because it has got their team’s logo.”
