‘Absolutely one of the best war films ever made. The claustrophobic atmosphere under the sea is described and made to feel to the audience,’ someone else added.

While according to the Express, another said: ‘Das Boot is an absolute masterpiece. Totally agree. When it comes to appearance, many Germans, especially in the north, tend to have more Nordic features.
‘People from regions like Lower Saxony, Westphalia, and Schleswig-Holstein often resemble Danes in terms of phenotype.’
Another fan wrote: ‘Can I give this film 6 stars. It has all the emotion, it has the action and it really brings the horrors of submarine warfare in World War 2 to life. Amazing film!’
