VICKY Pattison has addressed her absence from It Takes Two tonight which sparked concern among viewers.
The Geordie star was eliminated in last night’s Strictly dance-off, losing out to EastEnders‘ Balvinder Sopal.
Traditionally, the axed pairing appears on Monday night’s It Takes Two, but it was the surviving pairing that were in the studio, along with Lewis Cope and Katya Jones.
At the head of the show, host Fleur East said: “This weekend we sadly said goodbye to Vicky and Kai. They can’t be with us tonight but will be joining us later on in the week.”
Viewers took to X to voice their worry, with one writing: “Where’s Vicky.”
Another said: “Odd Vicky and Kai aren’t there.”
A third posted: “No Vicky and Kai on #ittakestwo.”
Now Vicky has explained why she was missing, and there was a very good reason.
In a heartfelt message on Instagram, she revealed she was celebrating her birthday in serious style.
She said: “We’ll be on It Takes Two on Wednesday to chat about our gorgeous journey, so sorry to anyone expecting to see us tonight…
“I’ve been celebrating my birthday in style. But we’ll see you then and we’re so excited… although I will definitely cry.
“Final Thank you to you guys, for your support and kindness.. I am so grateful to you all! You made a little girl’s dreams come true and I loved my time spent on that dance floor!”
The emotional statement began by praising the entire Strictly family as well as wishing her co-stars well for Blackpool Week.
Then she singled out pro partner Kai Widdrington for praise.
She said: “I’m struggling to put into words how much this process has meant to me… it has been one of the best things I’ve ever done in my life and I don’t think I’ll ever top it! To my @kaiwidd I just want to thank you from the bottom of my heart- the absolute BEST partner a girl could ask for.. and even more than that, a friend.”
While Balvinder, who has been in four dance-offs, told viewers she will live out her dream when she does an Argentine Tango at the weekend and felt like someone above was watching over her.
