A GERMAN football clash has made headlines after VAR was forced to make a bizarre offside call that left fans baffled.
Furth and Hertha Berlin drew 3-3 in the Bundesliga 2 on Saturday but one of the goals caused a stir.

Berlin had already gone 1-0 up through Fabian Reese in the 33rd minute before being given an indirect free-kick outside the box.
As the ball was swung in, Furth star Felix Klaus fell to the ground as Berlin players tussled in the box.
Luca Schuler capitalised on the chaos in the box as he got on the end of the cross to bundle into the net, making it 2-0.
Furth were fuming over the goal as Klaus appeared to be fouled by Kennet Eichhorn in the build up.
There were also suggestions that Schuler was offside as he arrived at the back post to to volley home.
But a VAR review showed that the head of Klaus was in fact playing Schuler on while he was lying on the floor.
In one of the strangest VAR calls in recent memory, a 3D reconstruction of the moment shows the offside lines drawn right at Klaus’ head.
It shows that Schuler was indeed onside, benefitting from the bizarre turn of events.

Fans were left baffled by the call, as one admitted on X: “I’d be fuming.”
A second wrote: “As a Bayern fan, I’ve always loved the idea of VAR being used properly. But this is ridiculous.”
A third said: “That’s really something. Incredible.”
And another claimed that the rules should be change so that only the foot is counted in an offside call.
One added: “To be honest this is supposed to be an offside because the other player is not in a upright position.”
Furth did redeem themselves in the game as they came from behind to level 2-2 thanks to goals from Branimir Hrgota and Klaus.
Schuler then netted his second of the day to put Hertha 3-2 up.
But Furth pegged the visitors back again as they equalised through Dennis Srbeny in the 81st minute to secure a vital draw.
