The medical staff were called onto the pitch by the referee, who then stretchered Piquerez off following a lengthy delay to the game.

Piquerez started the match at left back, with Matheus Olivera at centre-half instead of Atletico Madrid defender Jose Maria Gimenez.

But Gimenez, 31, replaced him after 16 minutes, with Olivera shifting to cover at left-back.
