Holiday hotspot Cyprus has been hit by wildfires in recent days, with homes and holiday properties burnt down and people have reportedly died.
The Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO) has updated its travel advice in response to the devastation on the island.
Warning of ‘active wildfires’, the government highlights the Paphos and Limassol districts as some of the affected areas, located in the south of Cyprus.
It adds: ‘Transport and infrastructure (electricity, water) links in locations close to the fires may be affected whilst the authorities respond to the situation.’
Though the FCDO note the airports in Paphos and Larnaca are ‘operating as normal’.
‘If you are due to travel to an area that might be affected by wildfires, contact your travel operator or accommodation provider before you travel to check that it is not currently impacted. Make sure you have appropriate insurance,’ the advice reads.
The Foreign Office also included recommendations for those in the area or affected by the wildfires.
‘Be cautious if you are in or near an area affected by wildfires. You should follow the guidance of the emergency services,’ it states.

‘Call the Cypriot Emergency services on 112 if you are in immediate danger.
‘Contact your airline or travel operator, who can assist you with information relating travel back to the UK.’
The updated advice comes as at least 39 square miles has been razed to the ground in a wine–producing region north of the city of Limassol, near popular holiday hotspots.
The blaze broke out around midday on Wednesday, with several fronts reportedly still active on Thursday morning.
Two people have died after they were burned alive in their car.
Local reports say police are attempting to identify the pair who were trying to escape in the vehicle.
At least 10 people were injured, two of them seriously, police said while more are missing and mass evacuations are underway.
The fire in Cyprus comes amid a harsh heatwave and forecasters expected the mercury to hit 45C on Thursday.
Turkey is also experiencing savage wildfires amid the heatwave gripping southern Europe.

At least 10 rescue workers were killed after they were unable to contain a punishing blaze sweeping through the central Eskisehir province.
Despite aggressive aerial and ground efforts, including 10 helicopters, five firefighting planes, and 30 fire trucks, unpredictable winds and dry conditions left two dozen emergency workers suddenly facing a raging inferno.
All 24 people were evacuated, but ten lost their lives, having suffered burns and extreme smoke inhalation.
Fourteen more remained in hospital undergoing treatment overnight, officials said.
