COPS have launched an urgent search for an escaped prison convict as the public are wanted “do not approach”.
Inmate Liam Wall absconded from HMP Prescoed, in south Wales, on Sunday, December 14.
The 36-year-old prisoner was locked up after being convicted for drug offences in 2017.
He is described as standing at around 5’8” tall, bald, with brown eyes and a brown beard.
Members of the public have been warned not to approach Wall as he may be “a potential risk”.
Gwent Police urged anyone with information to come forward immediately.
Wall was arrested, along with three other drug gang members, after the thugs posed with cash and cocaine.
At the time, Cardiff Crown Court heard it was one of the “busiest drugs line in Cardiff”.
It all came crashing down when Wall was caught red handed while driving a BMW on the M4 in November 2016.
Cops discovered around £22,000 worth of drugs, including 2kg of amphetamine, throughout their investigation.
A spokesperson for the force said: “Gwent Police has activated its operational plan with the aim of locating Wall and the prison is co-operating fully with us.
“Members of the public are advised not to approach Wall and to instead call police if they see him, or have any information, on 101, quoting 2500396403, you can send a direct message on Facebook or X,or online: https://www.gwent.police.uk/contact/af/contact-us-beta/contact-us/.
“Alternatively, you can call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111 or visit www.crimestoppers-uk.org.”
This comes as we reported how a shocking 12 prisoners have been mistakenly released from prison since a crackdown was announced in November, the Justice Secretary confirmed.
Figures showed that 91 accidental releases took place between April 1 and October 31 this year.
David Lammy confirmed earlier this month how a further 12 had been wrongly let out – despite a so-called crackdown on the farce in the prisons system.
Two remain at large, though the Justice Secretary refused to give a “running commentary” on their identity.
