They think it’s Al over… it is… wow!
David Alcaide overcame a massive scare to edge out Taiwanese ace Kuo Po Cheng.
The Spaniard, 46, is a two-time winner of the World Pool Masters.
In fact, he beat Scottish hero Jayson Shaw in the 2017 final of that tournament – and of course both players are in contention for this current event.
But he was locked at 8-8 with Cheng – who then conceded in the final rack.
So Alcaide joins Shaw in the last 64… just!
Jay walking the walk
Home dreams of a Jayson Shaw victory are growing after he reached the last 64.
The Scot, 36, sunk Basildon cuer Tony Burton 94 this afternoon.
Shaw has helped Europe win the Mosconi Cup seven times.
And he himself believes he’s in good enough form for some individual glory.
