A wealthy California man is believed to have killed his wife and daughter before turning the gun on himself at their $15 million mansion in Los Angeles

LA Sheriff’s Office said all three people were found dead following the apparent murder-suicide in the gated community of Rolling Hills around 10:20am Saturday.

The family was Asian, and the suspect was a man in his early seventies, while his wife was in her late sixties and their daughter was in her early forties.

Lieutenant Michal Modica told the Daily Mail the couple had been going through a messy divorce, and they had two daughters including the younger woman killed.

He said their surviving daughter made the horrific discovery that her entire immediate family had been slaughtered on Saturday morning.

‘She went to the house to do a welfare check on her mother and sister who lived there, and she found her sister and father deceased,’ Modica told the Daily Mail.

‘She called 911, and deputies went to the scene and found the mother also deceased.’

‘It’s known that the couple has been going through a contentious divorce for the last two years – they were separated,’ he added.

A police officer wearing blue latex gloves was filmed at the scene of the murder-suicide Saturday afternoon. Two of the victims are said to be a father and daughter

Modica said that both victims in the case had restraining orders against the suspect, who lived in Koreatown, Los Angeles.

There was no sign of forced entry at the scene, each body was found in a separate room in the huge mansion, and a handgun was recovered, Modica said.

Investigators are treating the horrific bloodbath as a domestic incident with no threat to the wider community.

A Fox11 helicopter filmed detectives and forensic officers working inside the huge property on Saturday afternoon.

One female officer could be seen walking around the outside of the house wearing blue latex gloves.

Another was seen holding a camera and taking photos of the scene.

The house where the bloodbath took place is a  stunning six bedroom, seven bathroom home built in 2006 by famous architect Robert L. Thompson.

It boasts huge floor to ceiling windows and rooms built around an enormous pool.

Modica described the property as ‘a very large house in an affluent neighborhood’.

A real estate agent’s listing for the property also brands it ‘one of the most architecturally stunning homes in Los Angeles.’

It offers views of the Pacific Ocean and Catalina Island to the south and the twinkling vista of Los Angeles to the North.

The home, which sits on four acres, has its own guest house, two private offices, large gym, sauna and Asian garden.
