Two people have been taken into custody after a person was gunned down inside a Georgia shopping mall.
Shots were fired shortly after 1pm on Tuesday afternoon inside the Augusta Mall, in Augusta.
The Richmond County Sheriff’s Office said there was one victim in the shooting, and that they had two suspects in custody.
Sources told WRDW that the shooter was first seen at American Eagle then ran into a nearby Bath & Body Works.
Deputies described the shooting to the outlet as being ‘more of a fight’ and not an actual mass shooting.

According to the outlet fellow shoppers have resorted to performing CPR on the victim.
Images have since emerged showing a large law enforcement presence around the mall.
A statement from police said: ‘RCSO currently have 2 subjects in custody and the Augusta Mall is now closed until further notice.’
In recent times the mall has become a frequent site of shootings, with a man being shot in the upper thigh and right knee following a dispute last July.
In April of that same year a person was injured in a shooting outside of Dillard’s at the mall, and a person was killed also in 2020.
In 2022 a gun was also pulled during a verbal dispute inside the mall’s food court, causing chaos amongst shoppers.
