TRAVIS Kelce urged fiancée Taylor Swift to be “on guard” about her friendship with Blake Lively, with sources claiming he was uneasy about the way the actress spoke to the global superstar.
Bombshell private text messages between the famous women have been made public as part of legal filings in Lively’s ongoing lawsuit with former co-star, Justin Baldoni.
In the December 2024 exchange, Lively reached out to Taylor, admitting she’d been focused on her own drama and felt like a “bad friend,” as the war with Baldoni over their movie, It Ends With Us, heated up.
Taylor admitted she felt uncomfortable with the new dynamic and went as far as to say the change in tone felt to her like receiving a “mass corporate email” rather than texts from a close friend.
“You said the word ‘we’ like 18 times,” Taylor told her. “I just kinda miss my funny, dark, normal speaking friend who talks to me as herself, not like. A plural unit… When it’s a group I’m hearing from, I feel distanced from you even more than we are geographically.”
She added, “And you don’t need to apologize. Just come back please.”
But since the situation exploded and Taylor’s name was dragged into the lawsuit, tensions still appear to be simmering.
The former best friends have not been in public together since late 2024, when they enjoyed a double-date dinner in New York with their partners, Travis Kelce and Ryan Reynolds.
Now, insiders have told The U.S. Sun that Travis was concerned about the drama and the way Lively was speaking to his wife-to-be.
“Travis really loves Taylor and isn’t afraid to speak up if he thinks it’s in her best interest,” an insider claimed.
“Things had become uncomfortable between Taylor and Blake, and although Taylor hadn’t said anything herself, Travis noticed the way Blake was speaking to her and felt it wasn’t right.
“He was very much in her ear, as he believed Blake’s behaviour toward Taylor felt off, and she should take a closer look at the dynamic, saying it wasn’t how a real friend should act.
“When Blake later raised concerns that their friendship had changed, Taylor didn’t hold back.
“She was encouraged by Travis to address the situation head-on and be honest about how she was feeling.”
They added, “He didn’t dislike Blake, but he didn’t think it was fair on Taylor, who had been nothing but a present and loyal friend.”
The U.S. Sun has reached out to Travis and Taylor’s reps for comment.

Hollywood hasn’t stopped buzzing since the explosive text messages from their private chats were unsealed.
Although Taylor is not identified by her full name, court documents indicate the texts are between her and Lively.
They paint a picture of the A-list friends trying to navigate a messy legal firestorm that began when Lively sued It Ends With Us director Baldoni in December 2024, accusing him of sexual harassment and retaliation.
Baldoni denied the claims and even filed a countersuit seeking $400 million, but that case was thrown out by a federal judge in June 2025.
The original lawsuit is still ongoing and headed for trial in May 2026.
‘BLAKE’S DRAGONS’
In one exchange, Lively called Baldoni “this doofus director of my movie” and a “clown who thinks he’s a writer now,” then asked Taylor for a favor – to endorse a revised script even if she hadn’t read it yet.
Taylor initially replied with unwavering support, texting “I’ll do anything for you !!” with Lively gushing that Taylor was “so epically heroic today.”
Taylor didn’t hold back her own thoughts either, with one message reading, “I think this bitch knows something is coming because he’s gotten out his tiny violin.”
Lively is alleged to have referred to herself during the conflict as “Khaleesi” with Taylor and Ryan as her “dragons” who defend her, a reference from Game of Thrones that turned up in a court countersuit before it was dismissed.
Taylor’s legal team pushed back hard when Baldoni’s side tried to subpoena her in May 2025, saying she had nothing to do with the film beyond licensing her song ‘My Tears Ricochet’ for the soundtrack and had never set foot on set.
Lively’s messages show her apologizing to Taylor for feeling distant and overwhelmed, acknowledging how busy and taxed Taylor is.
She wrote, “Is everything ok? I felt like a bad friend lately because I was such a sad sack who only talked about my own stuff for months.
“You were generous to not only be the key person there for me during all of it, but also to let me off the hook for being so in it.
“I always want the opportunity to be a better friend if there’s something I unintentionally did. I know how busy and taxed you are, physically, emotionally, practically, so I don’t expect any more from you ever.”
Blake and Taylor’s friendship history
Blake Lively and Taylor Swift have been friends for about a decade, first getting close around 2015 through Hollywood and mutual celebrity connections.
Taylor was already a global superstar, while Blake was an established actress known for her work on Gossip Girl and other films.
They were often spotted together at events, on nights out in New York, and on vacation.
Blake also attended the Super Bowl in 2024 as Taylor cheered on Travis Kelce of the Kansas City Chiefs.
But their bond goes beyond the public eye as Taylor is also the godmother to Blake and Ryan Reynolds’ children, including daughters James, Inez, and Betty, and their son Olin.
The pair have celebrated family milestones together, supported each other through life’s highs and lows, and maintained a close friendship until the lawsuit drama.
Taylor responded, “No you’re not wrong, but it’s also not a big deal. I think I’m just exhausted in every avenue of my life and in recent months had been feeling a little bit of a shift in the way you talk to me.
“Yes there has been a lot of the Justin stuff but I’ve been through things like this before and I know how all consuming it is.
“It’s more like… and I feel really bad saying anything about this because your texts have been so nice in their intent but your last few… it’s felt like I was reading a mass corporate email sent to 200 employees. You said the word ‘we’ like 18 times.
“And it feels awful to be in any way critical of any way you process what you’ve been going through but I just kinda miss my funny, dark, normal‑speaking friend who talks to me as herself, not like a plural unit.
“When it’s a group I’m hearing from, I feel distanced from you even more than we are geographically.
“And I know you feel attacked from all sides for ridiculous reasons so you’re feeling like you have to overly explain things or be overly nice or whatever but… it’s me! That’s just caused a little distance. And you don’t need to apologize. Just come back please.”
Despite all the fireworks, insiders have said that while the relationship is clearly strained, there is still a thread of affection between them.
Fans and media reports have noted that some of Taylor’s 2025 lyrics from her song ‘Cancelled!’ appear to reference themes of friendship and loyalty under public scrutiny.
The track includes the lines, “Good thing I like my friends canceled / I liked them cloaked in Gucci and in scandal … Now you know exactly who your friends are / We’re the ones with matching scars.”
Reports also indicate that Taylor is slated to be called as a hostile witness by Baldoni’s legal team, but this is not yet confirmed.
