On the banks of Lake Tahoe, Nevada, the fairways of Edgewood Tahoe Golf Course presented a scene of serenity Saturday. That was until the Kelce brothers took to the course.
Jason and Travis Kelce returned to the sun-soaked holes of the Stateline golf course for the second round of the American Century Championship on NBC – a celebrity golf tournament that attracts some of the biggest A-Listers across sport and entertainment.
While there was no Taylor Swift to be seen, the NFL brothers’ SWAT officers were once again in tow. But perhaps the security would have been better utilized to protect the swarms of spectators from the Kelces, not the other way round.
One spectator found himself in Travis’s firing line – albeit through no fault of his own. After a day of chugging beers, the Kansas City Chiefs star struck a man on the back of the neck with an errant shot.
The injured fan managed to laugh the incident off as the tight end signed an autograph and posed for a photo in compensation. ‘I think so,’ he answered, when asked if he was okay.
The fan may have escaped unscathed but it wasn’t the first time either Kelce had flirted with disaster.

To say their tournament descended into chaos would be an understatement. Playing alongside Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Baker Mayfield, the trio shotgunned beers, received ice cream deliveries and threw a party throughout their round – which almost ended in disaster.
Football’s most famous brothers have soaked up the attention in Tahoe all week, patiently signing autographs and taking photos with fans who lined the fairways.
‘I gotta figure out a way not to lose to my brother,’ Travis joked towards the end of this second round.
Yet, for some spectators the siblings may have come a little too close for comfort. Over the closing holes on Saturday, both Kelces fired errant shots into the crowds.
Earlier in his round, Travis, sporting a pink polo from Tiger Woods’ Sun Day Red apparel line, fired a shot which bounced off the roof of a grandstand and into the water. A few moments earlier, he was almost struck by a shot by Jason that hit a nearby tree.
Travis then took a drastic detour on the 15th when his ball nestled on the cart path. ‘You guys signed a waiver right,’ he asked the lurking spectators with a smile.
At the next hole, his game unraveled further. The three-time Super Bowl winner fired his tee shot way left of the fairway, leaving his ball nestled up against the base of a tree. Someone in the crowd told Travis he had, in fact, hit someone. ‘Oh s*** I did?’ he asked. Thankfully, no one appeared to be hurt.
On another hole, Travis could be heard swearing when his tee shot came up short of a par-3 green.
Meanwhile, Jason, sporting his signature straw hat, also took the scenic route around Edgewood, frequently missing the target. On the 15th, the Philadelphia Eagles legend hooked his second shot into the crowd, only to swing it back into the crowd on his rescue attempt.

Three holes later, a cop car almost fell victim to the retired center’s errant game. Jason, once again, failed to find the fairway with his ball coming to rest just behind the police vehicle.
While their playing partner Mayfield avoided the same disaster as the Kelce brothers, the same couldn’t be said for his scorecard.
The signal caller was an accomplice in their antics, with the trio sinking more beers than putts. After beating the heat with a cocktail earlier in the round, Mayfield found himself embroiled in a beer chugging contest. Like the tournament, he lost that too.
Yet that didn’t dampen their spirits. They partied around the golf course, throwing and drop kicking footballs into the boats parked along the par-three 17th. Jason and Mayfield even practiced a snap.
The Swifties who lined the fairways hoping to catch a glimpse of Travis’s pop sensation girlfriend Swift may have had their hopes dashed but the Grammy Award winner was there in spirit.
The songstress’s hit ‘Shake It Off’ belted out across the 17th and Travis did just that. The three-time Super Bowl winner shimmied his way down the tee box as the pop anthem blared out.
Their erratic play and chaotic antics were hardly surprising given the wild bet they cooked up with each other on the eve of the tournament.

Some time between wowing the crowds with their karaoke duet Thursday night and teeing off for Friday’s opening round, the Kelces got to plotting.
Jason revealed to Access Hollywood before their first round that they would be downing beers if they struggled on the greens.
He said: ‘Travis and I always have the side bets going for sure.
‘I think right now, the bet today we talked about last night is every three putt, you got a shotgun a beer.
‘So once you miss that first one, if you’re left with a four or five footer, it’s gonna be a little nerve wracking standing over that thing.’
Despite being a fierce competitor during his NFL career, Jason also explained that he was just there ‘for the vibes’.
‘That’s what it’s all about,’ he continued.
‘That’s why everybody is here. Everybody’s here to just have a good time. All these people are here mostly to have a good time. There’s a handful of guys that actually expect to win this thing, but we all know who they are, and that’s great.
‘We’re all here for the vibes. A lot of people come out here and lend their time to interact. So it’ll be a good day. I love it.’
