It’s known as a luxury holiday destination with endless sandy beaches, glamorous shopping centres and A-lister visitors.
Dubai is often associated with the wealthy – and is a dream destination for many.
It draws in millions of Brits every year and thousands have even moved there permanently.
However, one person shared her take on the holiday hotspot on X, formerly Twitter and said: ‘Am I the only one who doesn’t think Dubai (as a holiday destination) is attractive?’
The post attracted thousands of likes and hundreds of comments, with many other travellers sharing their opinion on the destination.
‘You are not alone,’ someone else agreed.
Another added: ‘I don’t either. It’s not somewhere I’d choose to go. Seems a big soulless.’
The original poster replied and expressed how she also felt it was ‘completely soulless’.

She did a admit in another comment that she had ‘not been’ and would not be going.
While one person penned: ‘It looks amazing, pristine and no expense spared but for me I need history, character, soul I don’t think I’d find it there amongst the show offs.’
Not everyone shared the same opinion, with others jumping to Dubai’s defence.
One commented: ‘It’s v attractive as a transit point on the way to a holiday in Oman!’
Another said: ‘You’re not the only one who thinks it, but it’s wrong. I’ve holidayed in Dubai multiple times now and enjoyed it every time.
‘Extremely safe place, something for everyone, amazing food, sights you can’t really see anywhere else.’
Others have also shared their take on the luxury destination, including Entrepreneur Charlie Morgan moved to the United Arab Emirates in 2023.
He shared why he moved back the UK after just two years and although he praised the country’s ‘healthy lifestyle’ and safety, Charlie raised some issues he found too.
Charlie felt it’s ‘impossible’ to put down roots in Dubai.

He said: ‘Living in Dubai feels like a holiday or in an Airbnb because in order for you to have a healthy life, you need to have people love and you need to have a social life and you need to have a love life.
‘You need to have a family life and stuff like that.’
Another point Charlie made was the air quality and he claimed he could ‘smell’ the pollution in the summer months.
While the loud construction work, which has been going on for a decade, also proved to be a problem for the businessman.
