Tragedy as man dies after falling from roof of car park at Manchester airport

A man has tragically died after falling from a roof at Manchester Airport.

The tragedy happened on Thursday afternoon in a car park near to the airport’s Terminal 1.

The man’s death is not being treated as suspicious, The Manchester Evening News reports.

A police scene was established as investigations began, but the incident didn’t result in any delays to flights departing or arriving at the airport.

The man hasn’t been named and no age for him has been released.

A police spokesperson confirmed emergency services were called to the scene at around 3.30pm on Thursday afternoon to a report of a concern for a man’s welfare.

According to reports, the air ambulance was also called to the scene, along with other emergency services.

A spokesperson for Manchester Airport confirmed it was working alongside GMP and said the tragedy didn’t cause any flight disruption.

No further details have been released.

In a statement issued on Thursday, GMP said: ‘We are currently responding to a concern for welfare incident at a car park at Manchester Airport.

‘There is no wider risk to the public and officers and colleagues from other emergency services are on the scene.’
