A 60-year-old man has died after leaping into the sea to help two struggling children.
The man’s heroic actions saw him jump into the water shortly after 4pm yesterday in an attempt to save two children in distress.
Sadly, the 60-year-old passed away despite the coast guard, an air ambulance and the RNLI rushing to assist.
The incident occurred on May 25 near the promenade in Ingoldmells, close to Skegness.
Police have yet to release any further information about the heroic man.
Lincolnshire Police said: “A 60-year-old man has sadly died after entering the water to help two children who appeared to be in distress.
“The man reportedly entered the sea just after 4pm today (25 May) close to the Promenade in Ingoldmells, he got into difficulty and sadly died at the scene.
“Our thoughts are with the man’s family and loved ones at this very sad time.”
